According to the manual there is a different setting that needs to be made for pre 1998 cars but otherwise it should work

Ray has it on his desk and we are going out at lunchtime to test it

Ok ive just had an email from Joey at Scanguage.

He can do the units at $149 which is about 77.25 GBP if ive got that right.
This may be subject to tax/duty.

Joey is going to register on here and post up details of how to pay ect.
And im sure he will explain the tax/duty thing.

So a good price I think??

So he will reply as soon as he is able.

I'd certainly be interested in one of these (maybe two - a colleague may want one). Note that if the customs form declares the goods at full price then VAT and import duty could add quite a bit to the price - maybe £30+. If Parcelforce do the final delivery then they add a 'collection charge' (about £13 last time I had something from the US) to the final price

We did this group buy on the RS Owners club and i dont know of anyone that paid more than £15 import duty on top of the cost of the scangauge.

Some got taxed some never - just the luck of the draw.

I think is was working out about £90/95 if you got caught for tax.

Still not a bad price for what you are getting in my opinion.

Depends how its sent and what is written on the customs form. I'm having stuff coming everyday from the US, Hong Kong, Aus and NZ. Customs are pretty hot on stuff coming from US at the moment.
If it is sent in a Jiffy Bag as a 'small packet' and declared as a gift or commercial sample (which it could be considered to be) they you will likely get away without charges.

These will be coming shipped as 'Electronic Fuel Meters'. and as such should avoid duty payments.

But like you say look of the draw I guess.

But even at 90/95 quid with duty there not a bad price.

Scoobynet Policy will not allow the trader to post details of a special offer unless they are an authorised trader

However if he gives you the details of how to pay etc etc and you post them [A proper Group Buy] that is allowed.

IF Joey wants to email me I am more than happy to post the details
