It plugs into the OBDII socket which is under the steering column. I'm sure it will be OK if you read through the thread from the start, only problems have been with Classics and JDM cars.

Hi,

Sorry about that - have your got a ticket ID so I can look into this? Did you e-mail via our enquiry form?

Earlier versions of the ScanGauge can be upgraded, but this requires a complete change of board. We can do for £25.00 & P&P. JDM models - sorry I don't know what that acronmyn means?

Hi,
I contacted via the enquiry form.
Whats the ticket ID?

JDM is Japanese Domestic Market ie Spec C Impreza's,Forester STi's etc,not made/officially imported for this country.

The gauge will report voltage and read fault codes but nothing else.

Hi,

Ticket ID is generated by the auto-response to your enquiry.

ScanGauge is designed to work with EOBD/OBD2 compliant vehicles only, only vehicles that have the socket, but are not compliant you may get partial live data, or fault codes.

Rule of thumb is that within the EU the law was petrol cars had to be compliant from 2001, diesel from 2004. Some earlier cars manufactured by companies such as Suburu were compliant earlier as the US law was from 1996.

Hope that this helps,

Gareth

Hi,

Just to make you all aware we are the UK reseller of ScanGauge.

You can buy direct from stock at UKOBD - On-board Diagnostic Tool, OBD2 & EOBD Specialists.

If there is sufficient interest we can look into offering a discount to this forum.

Bear in mind that costs from the US do incur 4% duty, 17.5% VAT and the courier will charge an admin fee (typically £20) for paying the VAT for you.

Hi Jim,

Nothing will change in the way of compliance. These tools are designed to work with OBD2/EOBD compliant vehicles only. Those Suburu's using the ISO/CAN OBD2 protocol will be fine, those that don't won't be I'm afraid.

The EU only required petrol cars to be compliant from 2001, although many are compliant prior to that as the US required compliance from 1996.

Hope that this helps.

Regards,

Gareth
