There are plenty of picnic spots all around, but there is a large restuarant in the grounds - Food there is not 5 star level food, but good enough for 99% of the visitors, so you will be OK!

ESC members still not identified/confirmed where they are meeting up:

Supercue
Miss D
Dave_68
PeterUK300
Shescooby
Tiny's Sister !!
Sti-cki, Wilf
Joooooo, Mick
Scoobysteve74

Wimpy's Group - all meeting us at Oxford Services (7 cars allocated)

Scooby Princess - will let me know where soon (hopefully) & if it's possible for her to confirm the other 3 possibilities I would appreciate it (and how many cars 1,2 or 3 so I can include them in the parking arrangements)

Even without knowing how many "people" are going to be in all the above cars, the ones who have confirmed their starting points means that there will be 39 people going so far - building nicely!!

We should be at South Mimms for about 8.30am(ish) and hopefully at Oxford Services for about 9.30am(ish) for a proposed arrival at the Park for 10.30am-11.00am if any of that helps.

If the traffic is clear, then we may be up on that schedule as you can never tell what the Oxford Ring Road is going to be like........

Whatever way you are joining us - to get your free drivers pass, you will have to meet me somewhere before you go into the Park!
We are coming from swindon and so we will meet you outside the wildlife park at 10.15am - What is the free drivers pass?

OK - will see you at the Park entrance - wait for us to arrive (at 10.15am I think you will be there before us) and I will give you your pass before we all go inside (in convoy, which should impress them) - Pass gets the "driver" free entrance (only the driver unfortunately) and the access to the reserved car parking area being set up for us. Without the pass you will have to pay in full & park with the public - but I would prefer to have all the Scoobies all together, so best hang on for us!

How many cars??

Any more from your area who might like to join us??

MEETING ARRANGEMENTS:

We should be having two "Comfort Stops" - one main one and a second "brief" one.

SOUTH MIMMS M25 SERVICES - this is the first place on the route to have a “comfort stop” – It’s also where I will hand out the driver passes/information packs etc to everyone there – we will also be briefly stopping at OXFORD M40 SERVICES to meet up with Wimpy and his group, so I can hand out his passes whilst we have the “comfort stop” to anyone/kids who need it! I don't visualise us staying here long........

As we have Dave, Tissy and myself coming from Harlow, thinking about it, it would make sense for us to go directly to SOUTH MIMMS and wait for everyone else to arrive (Assuming that's OK with them)?

For everyone else coming from the rest of Essex etc, then meeting at the usual Lakeside Services would seem to a "sensible" idea.......

As we've got all day and we don't really "have to be there" at the 10am opening time (we have got all day after all), how does 7.30am meeting at Lakeside for a 8.00am departure sound for the majority? I would think about 20-25mins from Lakeside to get to South Mimms, so I would think that Dave, Tissy & myself leaving Harlow at 8.00am-8.10am will mean we all meet up at roughly the same time at the South Mimms area.

Anyone not happy with those times?

Looie:

We would like to join you, coming over from Oxford.

Could meet up with Wimpy's Group - all meeting us at Oxford Services, but I can’t see the details for this, any idea who Wimpy is or where he has been posting, either that or can we meet you at the Park entrance and wait for you all to arrive at 10.15am

Could do with a free ticket if you have one to spare please.

Scoobydaddy.

- Looking forward to seeing you.

If you can get to the Oxford services to meet up with Wimpys group it would be simpler from my point of view as I am handing out the passes to his group there - he has just posted that he will be there at 9.00am, so if you aim for that time, all should be OK!

So I know - just one car? & how many people in your car?

SOME DO’S AND DONT’S FOR THE WILDLIFE PARK

When we get to the Park – PLEASE drive carefully and slowly once past the entrance gate – you will be driving past a number of animals, so NO FLAMERS – NO EXHAUST BANGS, or anything like it – the last thing we need will be our cars scaring the crap out of the animals by the entrance drive!

I will be handing out notes at the various Service Areas, but thought it prudent to post the above now just in case anyone misses the convoy and goes on thier own to the Park.

Don't forget to update your speed camera data - those pesky buggers keep on moving the camera locations when you want a nice drive!!

There are a number of speed cameras on the A40, plenty on the Oxford Ring Road, plus at least another four on the A40 from Oxford to Burford road – so watch out!

No, you drive pass the Camels, lots of birds and a few others on the way in from the front entrance up the drive to the entry tolls - but no Monkeys (apart from the cheeky ones in the cars).....

I told them when "talking up" the parking discussions that yours was a full rally replica and was worth thousands and thousands of pounds - so we will have to ensure your car is at the front row of our Scooby's to show the importance of it - maybe even parked "side on" to the rest of us! With a bit of luck, we might just be able to get the "group shot" photo up onto their web site, which would be a nice bit of publicity........
