Potenza 70s
Just had mine replaced on 06sti. Previuosly was a demo up to 3000miles, now done 7800 miles inner completely bald on one of the rears. Idiots ordered and fitted Potenza 40s now replacing them tomorrow for the same price £88+VAT fitted. Pleased with the price not pleased with the mileage. I don't thrash it that much and I am wondering if the tyres have been changed before I purchased the car as it was previously a demonstrator - although they probably thrashed it.

well worth doing anyway, but they should wear pretty even, if anything you'll wear out the outsides first!
put the savings from the tyres to good use

my 05 sti (bought early 06) was doing exactly the same with the outer edges of the front 070's until I had the geo re-done and now fine. Check the pressures with a proper gauge not the garage one as well as these are crap.
Lots of thoughts on pressures to run but 31 all round or slightly more (32-33) up front works well.
Proper geo (prodrive settings) seriously reduces tramlining as well.
Hope this helps
