I was thinking about chopping in the Scoob and the Pug for Elise/Exige.
All very well getting into the thing, but a bu99er to get out of (I'm 6ft5), therefore I've carried on looking for something else

Well as many sports cars address "small man syndrome" then perhaps it's appropriate that all you overgrown giraffes can't fit in them.
All cars fit when you're 5'8"

It's barely off the press and he's got a Lotus thread up, never before a mention to my knowledge of him liking Lotus. Then he says they need more power (they don't, that's not what they are all about) and later mentions the VAG stable engines. Rather predictable and boring.
Lotus's and suchlike work best with revvy powerful linear powered engines, not 2.0 turbos. The best engines for lightweight sports cars (elises, caterhams, westfields etc.) are normally aspirated engines like Toyota and Honda and VX/Ford engines tuned up to the drivers wishes. Powerful, linear, revvy, lightweight are the way to go with these type of cars.

And why do you think they brought Proton? What did Proton have that VAG doesn't? Proton just happen to have an 80% stake in Lotus. Lotus wasn't for sale but Proton was. Work it out numpty!! VAG didn't buy Proton for its expertise in chassis design!

Audi is a leader when it comes to lightweight chassis' design, its just that the heavy 4wd system hides that pretty unknown advantage. Look at the newer models for proof of what im talking about, and if audi needed chassis' expertise they could just ask porsche for a hand
Typical enthusiast, clouded as to the real reason why VAG bought proton.

So then AL, driven many Lotus cars have you?
I thought not.
Dracoro - I've not driven a VX220T (but would like to) but I do agree that the revvy nature of the 1.8 Toyota unit did suit the 111R.
The car was quick but completely unintimidating - Easy to drive yet very quick once you thrashed the engine half to death!
Of course AL was telling us how Toyotas are crap very recently - Does he know that the latest Elises use Toyota engines?
Probably not.

elise/exige
have driven most varients of the elise/exige and altho they r great fun to drive the less powerful s1 elises r slow on track, better o the road tho. the k series rover engines arnt really much good. the newer elises with the toyota engines r better than the old ones but still not much straight line speed past 60mph. exige is really good, both s1 and s2, 240r is awsome, but to put it bluntly all of them r very overpriced. the 240r is an absolute joke at 44k. this is just a fibreglass body with a toyota engine with a supercharger bolted on. the build quality is crap, the paint quality is crap, everythin feels like its goin to fall to pieces, its full of horrid old vauxhall switchgear. the handbrake dont feel like its attached to the brakes and the whole centre console feels like its gonna rip away from the car when u pull it up lol. the floor is so thin that when u get in it bends down towards the ground and makes a rolf harris noise lol. dont get me wrong its a brilliant car to drive great fun round the track, super fast, great handlin but at 44k its robbery. for this price u can get a noble which also is not the best built car in the world but when u r in it it feels a lot more special, there is a pretty nice interior and an amazin engine and chassis that puts the exige 240r to shame. having driven most of the elises and exiges i would rather have a bottom of the range noble than the top of the range exige 240r.
just my opinion tho, im not sayin the elise is a bad car, its just dont feel like u get your moneys worth especially in the 240r. 44k is just a joke.
sorry if i upset any elise owners. as a second hand buy the s1 and s2 standard elises r great.

Are you fcukin stupid? VAG could have had lotus if they so wished, proton is in bad shape, but they are in the lucrati8ve asian market with massive tax advantages. VAG bought proton because they will be a huge moneymaker for them. You think Lotus will make them lots of money?

Another AL demonstration of lack of car knowledge.
Plenty of lightweight cars around already with R1 power.
And Hayabusa power.
And Fireblade power.
Etc, etc.

Typical AudiLooser, clouded by your sad **** obssesive devotion to a German car manufacturer with no real experience/knowledge of what it is to be a car enthusiast, who only knows how to copy and paste articles and has no valuable contribution to this forum other than to entertain and be ridculed by myself and others. Its great, post anthing anti Audi and time and time again we can always rely on you to make a mockery of yourself...hook, line and sinker!! sooo predictable..

the a video , problemchild75 oulton park, and photos in the gallery of the nurburgring: 2006 where i caught the ring taxi in it
the car feels like a F1 car the engine and supercharger sat right behind you
my only moan would be the front end doesn't feel planted enough at the limit,

Right toss face, this comment showed you didn't KNOW that the R1 engine is used in cars.
Or actually, were you talking to someone else. I was last 9 stone aged about 18. Been 12 for about 10 years.
You really are a complete turd.

AudiLover, you really are a Grade A, 100%, thoroughbread c0ckjockey. Your inane drivel-posting whilst your waiting for your mummy to put dinner on the table, while your reading the latest Auto Express that you pulled out of your paper-round bag, is at times rather comical. Enough of the abusive posts especially towards a mate of mine you imature, still living with and sponging off your parents, pink blouse wearing poodle walker. Grow up, and stop all this "i'm the motoring world oracle" ****e.
stickin up for poor defenceless 9stone muscled "hulk like" matteeboy are we?

Christ almighty, what's AL's twisted weight obsession about?
One f**ked up individual.
Prodriva - I think his only friends are the turds he scoops out of drains doing his "plumbing" job.
You'd struggle to find anyone on any forum with less credibility than AudiBummer.
