Shockingly, this is taken very literally and inlcudes British Forces/NATO allies too.
Perhaps that is the case in this video.

1. Thats not 'sniping" its madness.

and the videos that Ive seen and what I saw in real life wont ever make it to "youth tube" etc. its not just the shooting its what the Americans are saying at the time and the manner in which they just laugh their heads off. They imagine this is 'their own Vietnam"

Remember they dont answer to anyone. a death is just another used bullet.

I have had many disagreements with you in the past Seamaster and considered you just a rabble rouser. However I find myself agreeing with what you are saying and actually saluting you for telling the truth, which isn't very de rigeur in the current climate. I have seen many horrific images and heard graphic stories of what has gone on in Iraq too. I think we should bring our boys back forthwith and disassociate ourselves from the madness ensuing there.

Insurgents? Bet they are at more risk of an attack from disgruntled drivers that they've just rear-ended

I have just came back from Iraq(Basra) and was out on the ground regularly.we do get the traffic to move out of the way if we are driving on the opposite side of the road, but the Iraqis are so used to it that they move automatically out of your way, however these PMC's think they can flash a fabloned union jack or US A4 size flag and you should treat them differently, right up there own **** and we came close to blows a few times with them.
IMHO normal iraqi's just want to get on with life and its the minority who spoil it.
Glad to be home though.

Well said!

Some common or garden flashing lights and sirens might help rather than damaging these poor people's cars - its hardly going to make them more of a target than the stealth of a Humvee coupled to constant horn blowing?

Ok, here's a toughie - what "cc" and bhp is a Humvee motor ?
6200cc - 6500cc NA and turbocharged. Youre looking at between 385nm and 515nm of torque at 1500-2000 rpm. people who think its all about bhp dont really understand..... Thats 280-380ft./lbs of torque!

Diesels will never acchieve massive HP figures due to the rev limit....eg..

cummins KTA50-G8 / 50Litre, V16

1915 hp @ 1500 RPM

or,6705 lbft @ 1500 RPM.

now thats GRUNT!

I'd love to hear moses response to watching that!!

I reckon he'd be straight down to the mosque to load up a rucksack with explosives, then he'd be on the next flight to Iraq!

That crackpot would probably think the troops are driving like that becuase they are not getting themselves enough luuurve....

What they should do, is lube up the front of the hummer with some *nice spit or oil, to ease it through the traffic better, and have some Barry White playing on the stereo

*© Moses , refering to his lovemaking technique some time ago on here.

Pete, don't get him started ,lol.
just to add that our rules of engagement are so different to the US and to be fair when we did have to use live rounds we did so robustly with little collaterall damage!!.
IMO The PMC's need someone to govern them lawfully as we are held to account if we do something unlawfull they get away with needless killing as the law cannot be everywhere!!!,especially as we are busy enough and i feel so sorry for the normal joe on the street!!!!!.

So pete are you still over there???.

Rolleyes at the second comment down on that vid - seems to sum up most of the american GI way of thinking......

Here's a solution to the war in Iraq !:
Pull our troops out and "Light their ****in world on fire !" Turn that ****in' county into a GLASS PARKING LOT !!! Oh... and you don't agree.... Well we will just light your ****in' world on fire too !!! ********

Ok calm down, pete is referring to our resident Muslim member who would no doubt be jumping on the "death to all non muslim bandwagon".

if i remember right Pete has been over there or similar places and can at least give a valid opinion.

Indeed. I mentioned the torque in a later post. Still surprised at the thing weighing only about the same as a Range Rover - I'm guessing it'll protect it's occupants from AK fire ?

The weight quoted is most probably for a street Hummer, ie one before armour plates. I think weight of those Hummers in Iraq is circa 4 tonnes.

3 guys got slotted because the yanks put a block on a major road (Route Irish for those with experiance) when a convoy was coming through and they got stuck. They took about 40 seconds of sustained GPMG fire into soft and semi soft skinned vehicles. SOP is now to keep moving!
