Make the doors stronger. Pick a solid hardwood door, and fit security star bolts.

Technically NACOSS don't exist anymore they are now known as NSI (National Security Inspecorate) NSI and the SSAIB (Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board ) are the only 2 recognised inspection agents for Intruder Alarm installers.

Go for a company accredited to one of these organisations and you 'shouldn't' go far wrong.

Most insurance companies do offer a discount if you have an alarm 'Maintained' by a company who is accredited to one of these.

As far as I know, not many creditable insurance companies will give you a discount on a B&Q special DIY alarm.

Zip

PS For 'B&Q special DIY alarm' read.... Response Alarms, Yale, Moss, A1, and a Multitude of other Cr&p..

Good advice, UPVC doors / windows are an open invitation. The sooner people realise this the better. UPVS is PLASTIC, it bends, deforms and stretches, 2 screwdrivers will open most UPVC windows or doors in a matter of seconds if used correctly, even, I'm afraid if, the manufacturer says they are the most secure windows ever!!!!

Hardwood windows and doors are the most secure without being silly and going for GRP or steel reinforcement. All you have to do is paint them every so ofton.

Cheers for the update, been out of the game for years now so don't keep up with things like this anymore.

But it might not stop them trying!

My house is very high security, I dont want to give details but a fairly large sum has been spent and installed by security specialst who is a friend of mine, overt and covert system etc etc. Yet the idiots still tried to get in. Ok they did not get in and it all worked perfectly but they still had a good go!

About the best security system you can get!!!

Theives will have a go at getting around most security measures, but they wll simply walk on by if they see a big dog!!

They are a bit more high maintainence than an alarm to be fair though!!!

Not if you have good perimeter detection sensors fitted they should trigger the alarm before they get in
