Surely though something like this just catchs wind, adds drag and messes up the airflow to the rear? It is an UNperformance mod. I think they look good and yes to answer the question bodyshop fitment but going on the responses here don't be surprised by accusations of it being 'barry' when you explain it is fake. Likely reduce the resale value of the car too.

good luck getting it fitted ok.

Pro boy..do shut up i was driving subarus when you were still getting to grips with mums nova!!

ok..he's an answer to the question. they are easy to fit because they just stick on. thenwhen someone says ohh whats that vent for up there you can spend 10 mins embarassingly explaining it does SWEET FA and its just held on with gaffer tape.

I'm not going to get into the whole marmite thing (love ot or hate it), but just ask yourself what you'd think if you saw a Nova with a stick on bonnet scoop (no hole cut in the bonnet)

TBH if you like it, do it. Just be aware some will not like it.

I'm going to an original RA vent cut into mine soon. (That'll be fun cutting the roof!!!!)

Again some will love it, some will hate it

Each person to there own thats what I say,but if you are going to a body shop why don't you buy a proper spec-c roof vent which are for sale on e-bay and get the body shop to do the work for you if you have a look on the nasoc site in the states there are a few people who have done it with photo's to document the mod.

Had the money to buy my bits, but spend it on a set of STI 6 suspension instead.

So will get it next month instead, by which time i hope there will be a 'Frayz Fitting Guide' on here somewhere

just to point out that, make sure its what you want, as once its on it won't come off without leaving you in need of a respray . I personally wouldn't go for that look but hey am wanting a WRC05 bonnet for mine , each to there own.wonder:

i have the same one on my car (bought the car like it) i think they look the mutts nuts. but they do make a lot of noise inside the car when going a bit fast and it can get a lil enoying but then u can alaways turn up the radio

when ever someone ask me what it does i tell them its a professional fly catcher most people just laugh

tbh if u like the look go for it i like the look i wouldnt take mine off unless i ever can be botherd to put a 'proper' one on

just my two pennys worth

If you want to do it.....just do it. Sod peoples opinions on here.
Bonding is easy enough, just make sure you`re 100% certain you want one because it`ll be stuck there forever once it sets.

My old roof scoop, and bonnet complete with fake WRC vent. I must be well chav

I think the point most people are trying to make is that if it's fake then why bother.

Surely we've all come across a chav'd up Escort in our time with fake stick on bonnet vents or a Nova with a Scooby scoop on the bonnet and all thought 'Why??'

Surely the same applies here.

But hey, what do I really care at the end of the day?

I'm not the one paying for it, I'm not the one who's going to be driving the car around and then have to explain to people that it's a basically a 'prop' when they ask what the roof scoop/vent is for. If people can live with that and not get embarrassed then go for it

I prefer to use my real vent

as before, if you do it right and you want it ( can look great when done proper) then do it. never mind the mouthy keyboard warriors on here as most of them wouldnt say hee haw about it to yer face anyway. so what do their opinions matter anyway... if you want one then fit one.. but for **** sake , do it right ! and justify it ! just like the newage pics...looks great ! **** everyone else !

what do the vents in the bonnet do on a normal UK classic?
I thought there was a reason for 'em, like to cool the engine?

I've had one fitted to my car and I think it looks quiet good, but thats my opinion, I think it's like the gold wheels, I hated them when I bought the car, but I think they actually suit the car now and will be leaving them on for the time being...

Bought my roof vent from Scooby Clinic, had to be drilled into the roof, but had this professionally done by a body shop.

Sorry about the photo, best one I have:

I have a carbon fibre 'copy' bonded to my car. I have had NO problems with the bonding.

The only disadvantage I didn't think of is:-

At speeds above 50 mph because the vent has a larger 'mouth' than its a*se, a fair bit of wind noise is generated.
