Am at a mate's house so I got no pics of my car sorry, but I've got a Mica Blue MY00 UK Turbo 2000 AWD, I'm 24, 3yrs NCB, and it's costing me £675 fully comp with eCar Insurance - Welcome to eCar
Everywhere else was giving me quotes like £1750ish!! And that's if they'd even quote me at all!

I don't get it - when i was looking around at cars and saw the STi Prodrive, my first thought was "thats going to cost a bomb to insure" - and theres no way in hell I'd have bought it if it was going to cost me over £1k to insure fully comp and I'm 28. As it was I got a pleasant surprise in that its cost me £830, and thats with my 60yo mother as a named driver, which bizarrely knocked well over £100 off the quote.
Of course it will get labelled as jealousy or whatever - but I enjoyed having a life away from my car - Obviously some people have different priorities.

A lot of these quotes amaze me. Nothing to do with me working in insurance either.
When i go onto these internet companies you mention i can't get my quote under £900, and thats with 9 years NCB and the fact i have owned the car for 2 and a half years, and live in a good area.
I wonder how many of these prices are 'pub talk' though??? I know a few people who knock a few hundred £££ when telling their mates what they pay (and i know exactly what they are paying )
Also, a few of the companies named above refused to quote due to mods, even though i only listed an exhaust and alloys. So who is being naughty and not disclosing mods then

think we should now ask what Xs ppl are 'going' to pay if required
#58
We should also be asking how many weeks take home pay is required to pay for the insurance. No doubt a lot of people take advantage of the "flexible and attractive payment options" but this just increases how much you pay. If someone asked me to fork out £1500-£2000 for car insurance I would tell them to shove it. Some people just have no idea about money

It will be nice when insurance companies properly take into account that the car parks our cars are in are guarded with the help of SA80's and rabid dogs!
