Transformers
Scalextric
Hornby Railways
RC Cars
(A quiet simple life of toys and sweets )
The last one, I can't do anything about. However, I've a shelf full of Transformers, an attic with a 20m scalextric track, railway I bought recently but remembered that they were actually quite dull so flogged it on. RC cars have all gone but I could probably have bought my Impreza a new engine for the amount of dosh I spent on RC cars a few years back.

TCR - Total Control Racing, like Scalextrix but almost impossible to crash, it wasnt actually that good, what I really miss apart from the toys is the anticipation and joy offered by the brochures for the toys, the TCR catalogue provided far more pleasure than the actual set, you know choosing which set, which accessories etc, but still getting the one just up from the bases one.
I remember the Lasky's catalogue I got whilst going round a department store that had a computer section just as they were becoming home items, prob 1982/83 and that offered many hours of scanning, looking at these wonderful machines and the magical games they could play, mainly due to displaying box art rather than actual in game images, there was the Spectrum, The C64, The almost mythical Apple IIe with stuff like disk drives and printers, pure magic.
The Atari catalogue was good as well, but the other thing I loved back then were the boxes for stuff like that, used to keep having a look even once the actual item was hooked up !
So the actual toys, there was,
Big Trak, I loved mine but it didnt stop me dismantaling it, never had the trailer so my dad didnt get fruit delivered to his arm chair.
Raleigh Strika, used by many years by me, braking provided by a very powerful back pedal brake and many new rear tyres, it was refitted and resprayed for my brother, he was either genuinely thrilled or hiding his dissapointment well when it was unveiled, he was after a BMX but dad was under threat of redundancy and money was a bit tight.
Next doors BBC micro, fantastic but pretty geeky, doubley wonderful to go round there as there was always loads of crap food, video nasties, pornos, sisters walking round in their knickers and rarely a parent in attendance.
The 'Burlington' catalogue, always flopped open at the same pages....
Cheapo remote control car, scared the **** out of us one night, started up in the middle of the night in my desk drawer, sounded like someone was typing on my C64.
C64, bought for 189 quid from Rumbelows, what use it was without any storage, no tape or disk, ordered a tape unit from a company called Rotronics, allow 28 days for delivery, took six months and many letters the *****, and it wasnt very good, there was no ordering from AMazon or Play back then to have it arrive a day or two later.
Pocket Simon, good but frustrating.
Atari Woody, wonderful, Defender was great, Empire Strikes Back and bizarrely Smurf, keep nearly buying one off Ebay and then wondering where I would put it, an Emulator is good but you dont get the tactile bit or the box.
It was pretty good not having that many toys, one action man, my kids have so much stuff I think they get overloaded, it made you make your own games like me and my cousin making a death slide from fuse wire across my grandads garden and nearly decapitating him.
Matchbox and Corgi cars, main fun was to squash them in the vice in the garage.
Lego technic, my kids have loads but it isnt the same, too many pre built pieces, I ended up paying thirty quid to buy the car chassis (8860) off Ebay, smelt of **** though which spoilt it a bit, it should smell of nice fresh plastic.
Football stickers, wasnt bothered that much about football but loved the stickers ?
Trainers, Addidas LA being the daddies, the ones with the three things in the heel that semed so hi tec back then, going out in new grey suede addidas 'Tucson' trainers and not being able to do anything in case we got them dirty
ZZAP 64 magazine, Dandy and Beano.
Ghetto Blasters, love of graphic equalisers, Phillips Tandem had twin tapes for software piracy.
Aftershave, Brut was good for covering up pond odours, well it wasnt cos we got caught, Blue Stratos, Slazenger sport, Hai Karate.
Tamiya Hornet

Still got all my original Star Wars figures and vehicles and lego stored away in the loft, could never bring myself to get rid of any of it. Did sell all my Scalextric stuff for £50 at a boot fair though when a teenager had about 100' of track and more than 10 cars including the old style Police Rover with flashing lights and sirens

I remember Action Jacks, they used to ride around on Big Trak !
Nowadays, similar things are availble called Corps, so the kids wander round asking anyone who will listen to help them find their 'Corps'.

I can remember Big Foot RC but i never had one. I used to have a small battery powered car (not rc) that you built, it had two gears, we use to race them.
I remember spending alot of time roller skating to a place called "Rollers" only to get there and then have to spend most of my Lemonade money on putting my skates right. Damn the skate police.

Always wanted one of these but never got one (Back in the SteetHawk Days)
My Raliegh Choppers, Had 2 one with adjustable handlebars and one without. Was it just me that planted my face many times when standing up pedling and the 2nd gear slipping ending with me going between the cow horn handlebars.
Miss my health, My Mum and the push bike building me and my mate used to do for sweet money.
