Please please tell me that all the above were done on an airstrip - PLEASE! Othewise, **** me ... there are too many mindless idiots on the road already driving Vauxhall Nova's with funny blue headlights, and Martian red lights appearing from under their chassis

FFS, nobody in their right mind would drive a scooby at > 160 MPH on the public highway --- would they?

Oh and lets take a pic on my k800i to prove it - hands off the wheel - click click, oh for **** sake.

Perhaps the strange hours are playing havoc with your mind?
perhaps answering my question simply without the use of sarcasm and encrypting it, may have helped...

thanks anyway for clearing it up after 3 days...

Very true mate.

Litcho is the only guy I'd buy a car from anyway

The husband got 159 mph out of my 03 Sti still standard, he said there was still some left in him, but he pants'd it.
He also had 90 out of it around a roundabout. Not for me i like to keep my licence clean, as the insurance is high enough without any points or a ban.

141 on GPS in the merc, not a chance in hell it'd have gone faster unless it was pushed off a cliff because it was screaming its mechanical ********* off!

It's possible, I followed a friend in an M3 into a roundabout and I wasn't really hanging around although I did slow down because I'm not crazy or that stupid but he was happily pulling away from me like I was a parked car so although I cant say accurately what speed he was doing it honestly would not surprise me if he was travelling around 90mph. Dependant on the roudabout it's possible IMO. This one in particular is offset to the right so if there's nothing coming the other way it's possible to enter in the right hand lane and exit in the left keeping a line as straight as possible and treating it like a chicane albeit if she is talking about going "round" a roundabout and not just across leading straight on then fair play I think it's bullsh*t too!!! I think providing the car is RWD or FWD and oversteering it is possible if you can treat is as a chicane

I value acceleration more than top speed nowadays, but I've never done more than about 130 in the Scoob - too worried about the bonnet flipping up or something. In my old turbocharged Clio 16v I did 145 on the autobahn - and it felt a lot more steady than my Scoob does at 130, that's for sure.

Same here - I'm sure it won't, but I can't keep my eyes off the bonnet when I go quick!

Fastest I've been (except bike) was years ago in a Rover 820 Si. Got up to about 135 - really liked that car just cost too damn much to service! I'm a bit more scared of losing my licence these days to try the Scoob out.

Most i got out of my 03 wrx with full hks exhuast is 155mph, it gets to 140 easily but struggles after that.

Obviously this was acheived on a private road, i think its called the A5, not sure who owns it though.

For all those claiming high speed is madness...

It's only velocity... as long as your tires are rated for it and car is in good working order whats the problem. You see road is clear ahead so you go for it... on 'big' roads you can see far enough ahead - do it late at night.

Hit the 148mph half boost cut a few times. Need to get that raised up in the ECU. Always done on a private road / track ofcourse.

Would make a great defence in court

at 148 mph at night, what chance would you have of seeing debris in the road that causes you to have a blowout, smashing into the central reservation, possibly going straight through to the other side of the motorway into oncoming ttraffic wiping everyone out

Maybe a little dramatic, but a possibility

When a £500 XJ-S with a missfire can cough its way up to 150mph, it kinda makes this thread pointless
