Nice one . I am genuinely suprised by the lack of people on here having a go at you. I to came from 2 scoobs (granted they were both wrx's not STI's) Get a remap and it a monster. I'm soon to have stage 3 and around 300bhp, despite what tidgy says, getting the power down is not so much of an issue. They are great cars Enjoy . I would sign up to vxronline, and astrasri. for info etc.

sti to vxr = mad

vxr handles better than a sti = mad

Yikes! Nothing wrong with th VXR, but for less than £3k you could have totally sorted the STi's suspension and turned the car into a 350/350 beast with exhaust, remap and a couple of bits. £6k depreciation!

Well you did so maybe you should have said "Why can't 'some' people spell ........" <--- Since you seem to be into spelling, etc I thought I'd point that out but please lets not go down the 'turning a thread into a spelling debate...." Scooby STI -> to VXR I wouldn't have done it, would have upgraded the handling and power.

Got to agreee with you the VXR is a great car (the wife has one), but I don't think the handling is that great - unless it is a completly dry day, you have little chance of it gripping the road...the wife never wins against my STi.

Have a look on Astra-sport.co.uk - they are a great bunch of people on there.

They are nice cars, but it would not interest me - don't want to go backwards to front wheel drive again if that makes sence

I thought that was one of the problems with the Focus RS?

I did spell loose correctly. I just put the wrong word!
I apologise for the finger slip, coffee hadn't kicked in. Bit sad that you felt like pointing it out though to be honest.

I have yet to get 300 bhp (coming just after christmas), but know people who do and is not a problem. a couple are already geting 340 from their's. I am running about 275 at the minute, and apart from in the wet never find it a problem, you just have to learn how to drive again, it was a crazy feeling going from understerring 4wd to this sharper handling fwd, but once you've done it. its awesome. Remember not so long ago the limit was thought to be 200, thats proved to be wrong with the vxr, st, new leon, meganne 225 and people that had mad power ctr's and the old leons. It's possible, you've got drive one to see tho.

Do you drive it with traction control on or off?

You always say that when you get a new car, "Its better then my last car". I said that about my Focus RS that I bought 3 months ago, until the new car feeling goes, and you start to notice little things that annoy you, Now with the good old british weather the roads are getting really wet, and my FWD Focus RS struggles to get traction, and now I have to drive everywhere off boost incase I torquesteer into on coming traffic!

Give it a few months, and you will be wanting another Scoob!

I wish I still had my scooby!!!!!

the people running 340 say they are a hand full and have to be very carefull when and how you drive it, lous is prob the most powerfull and after having a chat with her the other she was saying that you can't do a full power launch even in the dry witout wheels struggeling to find grip, use part throttle to launch then give it welly once rolling

yeah i had nothing but trouble with it, the tints were a mess. i lost control and took it through a hedge, took the front splitter off smashed the front bumper off and scratched all the side so got it fixed and thought i cant live with the damage.

yeah i hammered it...as you do, but the VXR is just as fast but smoother to go through the gears.

depending on which model of wrx, yes it will be quick once rolling and traction isn't a problem, in a straight line anyway
