One thing I can say about immigration into this country in recent years is that it certainly has divided us all in so many ways. Splits by ethnic group in the minority combined with splits amongst the majority on their view of the changing face of Britian.

Social cohesion, sense of national pride, respect for institutions do appear to be in decline and we have soaring rates of emmigration... regardless of your personal view on whether what's happening is for the best and completely irrespective of it, you can not deny these effects.

Question is can these problems be improved or will the situation just keep deteriorating.

And yes... I do think it is the constant consessions being made and how our society seems to be constantly having to change to suit the newcomers, and not the other way around, is what is really bothering the 'silent' majority.

 

Look you are in our country end of story you never said if you fight to the death to protect Great Britain you can always tell me you would and that be great especially if you can speak the lingo anyway good night

 

Maybe our government should look at the Dutch and take note on whets happening over there

Society has changed Gatty, again whether you like it or not. Immigration is a symptom of those changes, you need to look at the wider picture, not simply saying 'remove the immigrants and everything will be ok'. That is nothing less than a point blank refusal to look facts in the face. I think you yourself refer to that sort of thing as the 'hard truth'

To be honest I think of myself as 100% english but have no loyalty to this country in that sense anymore. What would I be fighting to protect exactly? This country is no more than an economy and living space in a world where I am free to work and travel in many many places. I do not feel like I owe this country anything anymore personally for a whole host of reasons...

 

Saudi has been full of white immigrants for years pawing clutchingly at the vast wealth generated by the flow of oil. It is now full of Philipinos and Indians - not cultural it is just that they are less greedy.

Immigration is not unique to the UK.

unfortunately we live in a complicated world sweetheart with lots of issues and not everybody is nice, and it isn't only white people that can be bad

 

A Home Office report that was produced last year but not published (it is available on demand) stated that: -

Black or Black British people aged between 10 and 25 were no more likely or less likely to commit a crime than their white counterparts.

Asians in the same group commited considerably less criminal offences.

These groups represent 8% of the population as a whole and do represent 24% of the prison population. It was even worse for female inmates.

This last point is probably why this report was suppressed as for the same level of offences there is three times the prosecution rate indicating a deeply racist criminal justice system supported by the ridiculous assertion that Blacks and Asians commit more crime.

The reality is that whiteys get away with it.

As for drugs and prostitution - that has more to do with organised crime not being controlled than immigration per se.

Listen fella, plenty of my family died fighting for this country in the past but as has already been said the country has changed. They didn't die fighting for the society we now have, that I am certain of, so why should I? Things would have to change before I felt the way they did about their country.

I don't run this country - if I did things would be very different
