I bet he would
Out of the two dogs, the staffie will be the easiest for a seagull to get at, because he's always on tha back of Scooby - humping him

Still no news on re uniting this lad with his owner Every new lead takes us to nothing
I have scoured loads of lost dog web sites, and nothing
Maybe I will have a scout about some local rescue or rehoming centres to see if any of those have any info of someone reporting him as missing / stolen
I really would like to think that there's someone out there missing him and wanting him back, he's a fantastic dog

Well its been a week or so now - you are obviously keen on the little chap so i reckon its time you thought of a name and got him collared up. As long as you've tried to find the owners to the best of your ability. (I skipped a few pages of the thread but have you rang the vets in a ten mile or so radius as they usually have lost and found books?)
Glad theres people like you about

LOL, we had another lab called Scrappy, he was Scooby's brother, but unfortunately, we had to get him re homed, he turned nasty, bit my neighbour, bullied Scooby terribly, so much so that he wouldn't eat and lost weight and couldn't keep him with the children, shame because he was gorgeous and we still miss him, but we couldn't take that risk I don't know what made him turn so nasty, but the kids are priority.
I have sent loads of emails off to various dog trusts in the Cheshire and Merseyside area and phoned the dog warden and the dog trust rehoming centre in Huyton. None of them have any records of him, but will keep an ear out and will call if they find or hear anything. I'm waiting for replies from the emails, hope they don't think I'm spamming LOL
Well, he has almost finished his meds now and has perked up so much, he's so lively, tail never stops wagging and seems to be quite intelligent! His eyes are nice and bright now too, his ribs are still showing, but he looks far better than he did and his coat is shiny We have a collar on him, which we put on him the day he found us, so we could put him on a lead etc. We really don't know what else we can do for the little man, apart from look after him and make sure he's OK. There's no way I am sending him off with a dog warden for him to be put into a pound and put down after x amount of days, he deserves so much better.
He's flat out by my feet now
Edit ;- not rung all the vets, but the one we took him to are keeping their ears open and *Sonic* had a look in pets at home on the boards there and in a few local shops....... Nothing

OK, now I feel like this! :
Phoned loads of vets, not just in our area, but surrounding areas too, the only one who had a dog of the same description on file, has been missing since August, 8 years of age and chipped. Seems like nobody wants to find this little guy
The vet said we have had him a week and looked after him, so really, by law, as we have done everything we can to locate his owner and got no joy, he is now ours to keep Or re home...
I guess it's tome to start choosing names

LOL, yeah, he just needs to be a shade of green now
Don't know what to do, it's hard to not get attached, but I have spoken to so many people who have looked into their records as far back as August and nothing has come up It looks more and more like he is here to stay, but if an owner does turn up, it will be more upsetting the longer we have him and get more attached
I just feel bad because there could be someone out there really missing him and would love to have him back - we just can't find them yet!

What else can you do though? You've done as much as is really possible. Stop beating yourself up and feeling bad about it, you've probably saved his life
If his original owners had missed him that much surely they'd have contacted all the people that you've contacted by now. I know I would if I lost Scooby.

Think you 2 have done a grand job and my full respect to both. Good luck with whatever you decide.

*sigh* I know, I guess I was hoping that there is someone out there, as he's such an adorable boy, I really can't believe someone would just turf him out, he's well behaved (has tried to jump on furniture but been told a firm NO!) And apart from his flatulence and bumming Scooby he's great! So good with Scooby and my children, I thought someone would be missing him...
Their loss of they want to get rid of such a nice dog.
If it was me, I owuld make every effort to find him and wouldn't give up.

Keeping with the Yoda theme, how about 'Obi' after Yoda's best mate?
Scooby and Obi sounds quite good

LOL, Obi Wan staff
Don't know.
He's been a little bugger, last night he bolted past me and banged my leg with his head ( he is clumsy) and I now have a lovely bruise He still whines too, but not as much, he is now barking more I'm waiting for the neighbours to start banging the door down complaining

LOL, my staff is clumsy also, she skids into the wall when trying to run at full pelt on our laminated floor in the hallway.
She's also taken me down over the park, ran into the back of my leg and I hit the deck in comical fashion - was a real you've been framed moment, shame I didn't have a video camera on
I've read this thread with great interest, very admirable what you've done

Bit of a breakthrough...
It's a longshot, but a lady from London had one stolen 7 weeks ago and he looks very much like him
Fingers crossed
