Gutmann, maybe the question should have been, "Is owning an Impreza, a 'macho' thing?".

You could take it to the extreme of just saying 'an Impreza' when someone asks what car you drive.

I have a WRXPPP by the way....I'm proud I guess.

What is so wrong with calling a car by its correct name?

STi
WRX
STi PPP
WRX PPP
STi Spec C
STi Type RA
STi JDM
STi Type UK

All different cars, and so named differently. What's the problem?

Ahh, it's a imaginary thing, like Elmer Fudpecker pointed out with people who dream up naming convensions to descibe their car (although his post on page 1 has strangely dissapeared )

Anyhoo, MK1.5 = Mark 1.5 1st version of the Impreza with the revised front end styling and engine. i.e a face lift classic.

Obviously, don't take this argument onto a Ford Escort forum. I still reckon the MK4 is a MK3.5, therfore the MK5 is a MK4 and the MK6 is just a revised MK4, so that's a MK4.5
