Default Is it a macho thing

Just wondered why when you guys answer a thread you put ......... STi ppp or WRX ppp. Surely the model is an STi or a WRX. The ppp is just a bunch of add on bits?

Maybe one day you will start saying STi ppp, with prodrive gear ****, mud flaps, wurthers originals in the glove box, tissues on the rear shelf, silly thing on the dash with loads of lights on it?

We noticed this in muppets a very along time ago and coined a few fitting alternate acronyms for the likes of PPP etc, at the expense of the people who quote them

I'll see if I can find it (twas about 3 to 4 years ago, so chances are slim )

The ultimate used to be the addition of the words ''Type UK'' because the owner thought his car was better than a jap import or Euro car. Like white dog crap, you dont see that often anymore though.

Same with the 'MY' though isn't it? Is that bit necessary?
I have an MY 04 WRX M FLC
(Mud flaps and fog light covers)

I think it's an ego thing, no-one with any other performance pack states it in their car description as much. Thing is though, i'd put it too if I had PPP

Maybe because after they post something about performance they are asked what model car is it?

Suppose it is people generally trying to be helpful, although i'm sure you know that

Lets ask another question.

Why do people who sell their Impreza's waste their time coming here stirring things up, asking pointless questions just to get a rise out of people, and slagging off the marque?
Is northloop really that quiet these days???

A statement doesn't require a reply. Isn't the muppet section the reserve for inane threads ?

As Gary said, it is because the first reply to your question is a question asking what spec your car is.

e.g.

Is there a less restrictive back box to replace mine?

What car, year, back box etc?

MY03 sti ppp.

Nothing more needs to be explained by putting it in the first post.

Admittedly there are plenty of threads on here where this has been put in the first post and the question is still asked!

Thought it was obvious.
