Perhaps the same could be echoed for those whinging about other people parking in spaces they believe to be theirs. If it winds you up that much, do as you suggest, shop online!

I am a mother myself and I absolutely HATE going into the shops where there are snivelling, whinging, crying, screaming, annoying children - leave them at home. Afterall, all the parents do is either ignore them, smack them or shout at them because they're trying to do the shopping. *shrug*

What happens to those who have nobody to leave their kids with and don't have a computer? Smart ****!
Not all kids are as you describe.

OK, I have a problem with people being inconsiderate full stop. It's nothing to do with parking spaces but life in general. The fact that these spaces are reserved for specific groups of people (for damn good reasons I've already mentioned), means the rest of us, should be polite and considerate enough to respect this, and allow them to be used for the purpose that they are intended. About shopping online, it can apply to parents, disabled or people who don't want to get their amazing cars scratched, and I was just making that point. I personally don't like shopping online as I like to see what I'm going to put down my rather large gob, before I buy it.

At the end of the day if you want to be an ******* than that's your prerogative, but Karma has a way of getting back at you.

I believe what goes around, comes around.

I also think some people are missing the issue with child spaces. Its not the proximity to the shop door but the extra space required to open a door fully to remove a child.

Can't wait for those abusing the spaces to put up a thread about door dinkers, hopefully caused by me because i couln't get a child spot due to thoughtless numb nuts.

Well, it's simple, they continue as they've always done by driving to the shop and parking in any space they choose

All the kids that go to my local tesco and asda are

Default Only on public roads......

I was chatting about this with some mates at work last Night, they think that it is NOT illegal to park in disabled spaces in shop car parks. The Law only covers spaces reserved on the public highways............and as the parking area is owned by the supermarket (for example) it is classed as private land.................so not cover by the Highway Code.

I'd be sure not to park in an area covered by Fines -simple. As most supermarket carparks aren't covered by law or bylaw I wont be getting clamped or fined. It's private property I park where I am legally able to

I have to agree with your point about this issue being more related to people's outlook and respect for rules and less to do with just parking spaces. It seems people who are normally polite, courteous and considerate become stark raving mad when behind the wheel. The parking issue is indeed an emotive one with a very much divided opinion. However it seems parents are vociferous about parent/child spaces, people with disabled family members are vociferous about the disabled spaces. Whilst some don't care full stop.

Many supermarkets are now issuing fines to vehicles parked incorrectly. Can they legally do that

LOL... no! It's me!!

Fixed fines? If it's a council owned carpark then yes, they could. Otherwise they'd have trouble making it stick I think.

It depends on if the car park is supermarket owned or council, if council i would say yes they can..! ive had to park tight to the white line on many an occasion, due to people trying to creat room around their car etc. then its a knock on effect to everyone else who parks afterwards.. If they fined me, id choose to spend my money elsewhere, and thats a lot of money per week, from just one upset person who they fine....! Perhaps they should introduce days and times for certain people, not wanting to get slatted here but, I see mums getting out of their cars, walking past the supermarket doors, and going into the town to do their shopping... all because they cant go into the town another day, they just presume the parking spots are theirs regardless of in the supermarket or not....!

This annoys me, I am a new mother and them child and parent spaces are designed for us, not because we are lazy but because we need the extra space to get the baby and the child seat out of the car. Plus they are closer because I wouldn't want to walk all the way to the other side of the car park with my baby if its cold and raining.
Many a time I have had to park in a normal space and the struggle to get my baby out is just too much. I can't leave the baby at home while I shop becuase I have noone to leave him with, and I personally don't feel I should have to shop online if I have a child. I like to choose my own products.

People won't stop parking in mother and child spaces beacuse they don't think about the mothers that have to struggle, it's just a convienience at that time for them to park closer and have more space. I think it's wrong, but then there is alot of wrong in this world.

I meant for my baby not me, I don't care if I get cold and wet, but I don't want my baby to.
