its better than beatin him up you ****. Obviously the **** will know then hes majorly pissin someone off when he comes home to windowless house, and is freezing his bollocks off he'll have time to reflect, and he cant press charges, and it would have cost him money aswell if he owned the place.

IMO i would go to his door, politely ask him to keep the noise down, as a good neighbour etc..... if not then take action, as in kick the little w**ks head in, they deserve everything they get, think they rule the world little neds!!!!!!!!!

Does he rent the house from a private landlord?...if so speak with the owner,they might apply some pressure or threaten to not renew his tenancy...
As others have said keep a diary of times etc,speak to local enviroment agency,get a few neighbours to ring up as well...the council i work for require three households to complain and then they will send an enviroment officer to attend and record noise levels and if levels are high then they can slap him with a noise abatement notice and if any further problems they will remove his equipment.

if you have any big mates, but one of them a burger or some beers and take him with you to the house when u complain
he will be a fool to not listen (sounds like one anyway), but maybe he'll listen if u have a big dude next to u looking angry! im young too so dont mind a bit of loud music, but u have to think of the neighbours (especially if they have kids), so once in a while is ok by me, but every night is taking the pishhhhhh

personally i would try the calm route of asking politley. heres an idea though, assuming it could be used as evidence. if the tw@t in question is hurling abuse at you after you try explain the problem, why not have your mobile phone or a recorder of some sort in your pocket to record the conversation. i think you could use it as evidence against the induvidual you see as long as the voices can be distinguished, plus he and his chav mates wouldnt know if it was discreetly sourced in your pocket etc? worth a try perhaps.
reason i say this is because something similar happened to me, in a different manner. im a dj and used to play my music quite loud in the garage before sorting out my bedroom studio. i asked the neighbours either side if they minded (was a sunny day and my garage is at the bottom of a long garden with my house being terraced). they said it was fine so off i set. set all of my stuff up and proceeded to spin the wheels of steel.
1 hour later a guy from the council turned up and asked me to turn the music off. i was recoeding the music on my phone so left the record button on while this chap was talking to me. he claimed that someone from 101 had complained about the bass levels of my system (i live at 33 by the way!), and i thus debated this as my neighbours were totally fine and hadnt requested i turn the "noise" down (they are both in their 60s not 22 like me)
. the council gentleman then proceeded to barracade me with abuse threatening to confiscate my equipment (worth 1000s) and records etc. now he was using some rather fruity language towards me and i was alone so was rather fortunate to have my phone on the go at the time.
needless to say i apologised, clodes all my stuff up and when inside rather cheesed off. it was then it struck me that i had recorded all of this 15-20 rampage off this guy and he had given me a card etc telling me to expect trouble.
1 phone call later to the local council offices and a quick trip to them with my evidence on my phone un-touched and original... the gentleman in question was suspended for something or another to do with harassment etc, using foul and abusive language and the like.
so really you can see the point im making. i didnt want the guy sacked/suspended etc, i was agrieved, like you are, just in a different way. can you see where im coming from.

If he's renting through an agency, contact them with dates and time etc. they will hopefully take this seriously. We had to do this with the letting of the flat next door to us. In the end, the tenants were forced out as the agency refused to rent to them anymore!!

Good idea about the phone, I always have my phone on me so setting it to record just before I knock on his door would be easy enough.
I just hate his attitude, it's like your afraid of him before you even need to go and ask him politely to keep the noise down, but on the other hand he's got one of those faces you would just love to slap.
He keeps a bull mastif outside aswell who is stinking, our neighbour refills his water etc as the lad is at work through the week, it must only go on a walk on it's birthday, and I dunno when it was last washed, he isn't dirty looking, just smelly
, noone is in through the day to control his barking etc when he goes off on one.
Then his car (woke me at 2am this morning coming in), it's about 20 paces from our houses to the junction and he seems to be trying to get a record by getting from 1st to 4th in all of 10 seconds.
I just sound like a moaner, but it has went on for months now and I've already heard his responses to what people think, and at the end of the day I have my little one to think of, I mean how childish can 1 person be, because my neighbour said something he then on purpose dints his brand new car with his car door.

Sounds like totally selfish behaviour and deliberately wanting to upset other people.
I would be tempted to ask him politely to turn the noise etc. down, and when he starts with the unpleasant reaction, throw a handfull of white pepper in his face!

3 doors down there is a privatley rented house with some polish immigrants in it. nothing against any culture etc, as they are usually quiet and well mannered, except for the other day. im sat at the pc which is right near my front window onlooking the street. i hear loud shouting and look outside. a polish gentleman is stood there screaming all obsenities throwing bottles about punching lamposts and the like.
i watch for a few seconds and then notice two kiddlies (9 years old i found out later) walking by. this guy (whose wearing a blood soaked white tee shirt) aproaches them and starts boasting about himself bleeding being rather aggressive.
thats it. its not on. i jump up, straight outside and... WHACK ...right across his nose.
"now **** off back inside you ****ing *****" i said "im calling the police now. you go anywhere near these kids and il cut you another air pipe."
said polish guy goes back inside and i call police asap. go back outside to speak to kids etc and see three polish guys leg it. police came banged a door down and had some words. not heard a peep since.
im not a father but when its two 9 year old kids, that isnt right and i made sure one hit was all it took, considering he was well over 6ft and im 5'5. bit of violence sorted it out but shouldnt have happened in the first place.

Well the thing is why should I have to resort to being like him, I know the saying If you can't beat em join em but I wouldn't have the guts to do what this lad does and reacts.
I'm the same I'm only 5ft 4" and this lad is over 6ft, it's like he uses this against people who dare to complain, my hubby is over 6ft but coz of his job he wouldn't resort to beating the cr@p out of him either.

We're in a similar position but worse! Our neighbours (The Scumbags) are as noisy as can be but what's worse is that they have mates over the road (The Max Muppets). We get it all, loud music till all hours, loud cars, shouting, door slamming, thumping up and down stairs, fights in the street, you name it! I've given up! I've lost count of the times I've been round there, you just can't make an impression on these people, they're too stupid! The last run in was at 2am one morning, I asked them to turn their music off, one lad, a complete **** says 'why?'...I rest my case! 
Further to that, we woke them up a bit later at 6am when we went out in Sal's Dad's Scoob, the same cheeky little ****** complained to us about the noise, I chased him back in the house but luckily managed to hold myself back, I'd have been 'inside' now otherwise! 
If we're really lucky, we get two parties at once which usually spills into the street between the two houses, I was woken at 1.30am today, lucky really, it's usually 4am for some reason
There is good news though, we're moving!!!
Oh yeah, speaking to their landlord has had little to no effect so we considered the reporting them to whoever. Beware of this as I believe you have to disclose it should you move, hence why we didn't go that route, we wanted to move anyway.

We certainly won't be moving, we only moved in in June this year, sick of moving, hubby was in the army so it's nice to be settled somewhere. Anyways, this lad only moved in a couple of months before us and keeps saying he is moving, he said in 6 months time, but he was saying that as soon as he'd moved in so he should be gone by now, he's full of ****, he was supposed to be getting an M3 aswell, still waiting for that to arrive, all mouth and no trouses I reckon.
Hubby's on nightshift again tonight, so once the little ones away to bed I'm having a few drinks with some mates, so lets see what happens tonight if he pi55es me off with his music, I think I've put up with it too long now without letting him know I'm fed up of hearing his noise.
BTW Bob, do you live on the same street as me, sounds familiar.

Back date it, well that's easy done, every Friday and Saturday night since June, oh and maybes a Wednesday or Thursday on occassion.
omg, I just read that back, it wasn't supposed to come across sarcastic, it's amazing how 1 persons noise can stress you out so much.

sorry to hear ya bad news ... i have been in your situation a year n half ago ... my next door but 1 neighbour was a **** head and kept leaving her 8yr old daughter n troddled off to the pub till late so 1st i reported her to social services... eventually she had her daughter took off her .. then i got intouch with the council and started doing logs on her n i also rang the police for log numbers from them too they always give a log number when ya ring them .. the neighbour from hell on a couple of occasions did **** me off to the point i went out to her .. yeahh she wanted to try give me a kickin but i gave her 1st punch and once she realised i was gonna kick her *** she pissed off in to her house so she stopped being clever with me and went into hidding.. they was having wild parties most nights especially friday sat and sunday i work 12 hour shifts and was getting 3 hours sleep a night at the most but she continued banging doors playing loud music ect ect so i also contacted enviromental health it took me 2 yrs but the council evicted her <thank ****> ....... the woman was in the papers 3 weeks ago as a missing person with mental health problems but they found her a week later <shame> ... fookin waist of tax payers money cos she is a **** head and now living on another estate in hull bludging off the goverment to feed her addiction to cider .. failing that go **** the swine .. just cos your a woman dont feel intimidated .. i never do ill lend you me rottweiler quartz posted piccy of him earlier .. keep ya chin up it will all work out in the end

Well first off call the rspca get the dog taken off the yob so it can have a better life and get looked after.
Then phone the police a few times during the night dont bother asking him you wont get anywhere hes had his chance and has been asked already.
Even if the police cant/dont do anything there will be a record of it on file and shows theres a problem, It wont hurt for a few diffrent people to phone. Then once you have done that phone the relevant council department.
Dont get caught up in a slaging match its not worth it and only causes you more stress.

I went to his door tonight, I'd fell asleep on the sofa about 8:30 and got woke up less than half hour later with boom boom boom through the wall, so I got up said I was totally pi55ed off this time and went to his door, needless to say I got no answer coz the music was so loud, so next time I see him I'm going to tell him I had to come to the door about his noise, see what he says. I'm knackered now, I was dead tired earlier on and thought it would be good for me to have some sleep as I haven't been well over the past few months with an ongoing prob, so getting woke up really makes me stress out and I'm already a stress head just now without a **** jockey like him having no respect for others.

Julz, if moving isn't an option then start a complaint with the local council Environmental Health dept. The Police can't do anything, I know because I've tried that route. As Bob says above we've cured the problem by selling our house to a couple who want to rent it out (fingers crossed for the insomiac drummers 
).
I know how much it can affect your quality of life having noisy neighbours, we've put up with them for over two years and were getting near to breaking point. They don't own the house so don't give a ****, if they get kicked out they can rent somewhere else, half the time I don't even think they realise just how noisy they are. There's no reasoning with people like that, they just think you're being a miserable old fart. They have no consideration or respect for anyone else, it makes me so mad
So all I can really do is offer you some sympathy, I know exactly how you feel. Try not to let the stress get out of control and do get on to the council
