Ian....sorry to hear about your mates TT .....fair to say you missed an excellent one with more lift off's than a USA rocket base , you were missed, next time mate.

Bob T.....Laura...ha....ha...I know, why do ya think I got Nathan to pax with me (only joking Miss L ), seriously Bob, hope you enjoyed the day, your a keen regular and no northern meet would be right without you matey Oh and the fact that you can drive that there fiesty thing helps too

Hope everyone enjoyed it, quite a mamoth route to say the least, as Bob says, a little bit of everything. Great to see so many differing cars too.....22B...P1's (common as muck ), MY01's, waggons, UK scoobs, wrx's, that renaulty thingy that struggled to keep up (needs a proper driver eh ).....what a sight we must've been

Steve's WRX looks the business.....wheels and brakes next steve ? oh and dont forget to say hi to your young...erm.......passenger there....Stacey (how embarassing......FOR ME )

Anyhows, Oulton Park next Saturday then roll on 2002 .....trips galore

Till then.

Thanks for organising a great run Chris . Can you do something about Blue A class drivers next time?
Those were some of the best roads I've ever driven, and it was great to drive them with the people I did. No incidents and everyone slowing to a crawl for horses and cyclists, and giving them as much room as possible when passing .
Cheers,
Martin.

great day. just got in from going out again. fantastic turnout of different models with 3 P1's (getting too common for me !), first time I've led a 22b, P1 and Wrx, hope I wasn't too slow for them. interestingly slippy at times, thank goodness we came across the 100's of sheep on the road where we did.
lovely drive home as well, with the full moon ahead.
ah well, car now having a well earned rest, being put to bed for 6 weeks.
everybody have a great christmas and a happy new year. I'll be thinking of you (not) while I'm sunning myself in Thailand and Australia.
Michael

Cheers Mellow had a great day out and cheers to Adge far a great day as well. The Clio was quick but not 22B quick you’re just getting old Adge mate (LOL).

Thanks to all again and look forward to the next one take care and keep it on the black stuff.

P.S: Thought I would mention it as well as not many people do, Mellow a very good briefing at the start with clear instructions and a very good route with clear warnings and cautions on, also from what I saw great driving standards, well done to all.

Cheers for a brilliant day out Mellow!
475 miles was a long way in one day, but I must say it was more than worth it - great roads, great people & some top grub!
I watched the exclusive, first screening of 'Scooby Killer The Movie' last night & with a bit of editing it should be a box office smash! I think we'll have to edit out the sound of Matt chomping 5 packets of crisps & belching for England though!
Copies will soon be available for the bargain basement price of a blank video & a pint next time you see me!!! Cheers for the loan of your screen mount Martin.
I'm afraid the Clio's front tyres are now looking a little worse for wear - 4000 miles a set is not good news!
Thanks to Matt for your better than usual co-driving & for keeping me awake on the long drive home with your angelic singing!
Steve, the photos look good mate, got any more?
As you can see from the shots, the only way I managed to keep up with Mellow's P1 & Steve's WRX was to cut all the corners... I reckon they drove at least a mile further than me throughout the day!
It was nice to meet some new people as well as the regulars - when's the next one?

Hope everyone had as much fun as Matt & I did & that everyone got home safely.

Thanks again Mellow - will we see you at the Broad Street bash?

Jon

Darren, many thanks for your kind words, with all the recent hype regarding meets and people being accused of not taking account for their actions and the public perception, it was great to see that we all drove accordingly and made allowances for horses, walkers, cyclists and the like whilst still being able to have a swift drive in the correct area's

Jon, cheers mate, can't wait to see the vid.....some mileage there eh ! methinks that if you were to tweak that suspension of yours then you could follow the scenic route with the rest of us

Broad St.....I should say so

Hi Folks,

Great Day! Cheers Mellow for a fantastic run.
And Slider, what can I say? That man is awesome. If I could drive 1/10 that good I'd be happy. I just couldn't believe how far ahead he got sometimes, and he has less power than all of us in the group! Just shows, it ain't the car, it's the driver.

Had an excellent airborne moment with all 4 wheels off. Dukes of Hazzard stylee, and a nice "dry stone wall moment" that nearly ended in a new front wing

Glad everyone had a good day.

Hope to see you all again soon.

Cheers

Rich,
your Dry Stone Wall moment, was it the 90 right in the village with the derelict Petrol Station by any chance? :
Martin (who had a moment of his own).

Yes Martin,

That's the one, I was a little ethusiastic. Remembered Mellow flicking his tail out there in Summer, with me in pax.

Thought I'd try the same.

Er! Rich! wet road! December! not in a P1!

The airborne moment was the best of the day. Never had all 4 wheels off before! Wish I could have videoed it (especially with in car sound!!)

Rich

Nice one Mellow for organising this again, it sure was a good run. We too got stuck behind the wide load and everytime I'd start to nod off John would stamp on the brakes, accelerate hard....ish(it is a Clio) then brake again. So I had to stay awake and eat more crisps. Mellow you'll have to let me know if you want the adult version (munching, belching, farting and swearing or the PG 13 version with bleeps.

Here's looking forward to the camping trip, see you all soon Matt.
