I was sticking Lancer Turbo engines in MK1 & 2 Escorts and 1850 Maxi engines in Mini's long before relatively easy conversions like ZVH's came about. We are not all 'cheque book' tuners here!
In fact I still happen to have a racing spec SEAT that will completely cane any FORD, SUPRA, SCOOBY or LANCER around the track! I can prove it with pictures at the weekend too!

bloody hell. i have gone through all 11 pages which feels like a lifetime. a funny thread but some stuff is beggers belief. im not going to try and be moral and make comments about previous posts. ill just say nice car mate! my dad has an s1 turbo in standard guise in storage. dont see many rst's about these days, must be like the nova...with all the rain this country gets they soon dissolve.

Im not doubting you but how could you possibly keep traction through most of the gears with that much power in a front wheel drive car and beat a 4 wheel drive car with 280bhp and you were running 290bhp, and the power to weight ratio is not that much different, im guessing that your car still ways over 1000kgs? and you still left him easily.

i've spent a massive amount of time and money building the car. i dont no how anyone can say the car is "chavvy" thats such a stupid comment, as i think thats a bit of jelousy, this car cost alot more to build then most of the scoobys on this thread (alot of exceptions) and i've never said i dont like the cars you drive as i do.
see when i see a really nice car with alot of effort put into it i praise it. i see alot of people on here are "blinkered" and think scoobys are the only car in the world.
as for the people who like it, thanks for your comments
i didnt build the car to make a point, i built it for me
the car WAS an original S1 to start with and i dont think about things like devaluing a car because otherwise you would never modify them in the first place.
FEEL FREE to slate the car as much as you like as i can see thats all im going to get on here
