although having had a C64 i think the spectrum 48k rubber keypad will be the one i always remember...a phenomenal amount of games and Underwurlde and Wheelie will always be cherished
i think the best gamers today honed all their skills over the old style games
would you get the kids of today playing platform games like manic miner and chuckie egg.....1 false move and game over...no chance
they wouldnt have the patience...no quick saves on sabrewulf, jet pac or knightlore

I stuck on some titles in MAME. Was game over in minutes. I thought "Damn, i used to be good at these. My 10p used to last quite some time!".
Kids of today are spoilt by the Quick saves, you're right.

Others for me were; Raid Over Moscow, Links golf, Pit Fall and another one called Bob (something) but I can only remember playing it, lots of jumping from floating block to block (and a bonus stage called 'jumping 101')..?
Jet set ***** was another one although I don't recall playing it much.
BTW did anyone ever finish Mission Impossible..?
Just remembered a football game on a cartridge (ie no waiting/uncertainty for loading) that was hilarious..
Fond memories, but as mentioned you'd probably play it once and ruin those priceless memoirs..! Played the original Doom recently and it was attrociously blocky..!

And you all forgot the Atari Computers, I learnt to program on an Atari 400 ... even had some games published.
For the games list, Jumpman Junior and Speedball! Yes please ...

I remember you could kick from goalie, head from midfield, then shoot from 35+ yards and with the distance timed right, hit the bar and in.
That game was fantastic!!
