I might manage an hour or two tonight. Mrs is going over the road to have a pizza with one of her mates... I asked if I could go too, but she's having none of it. I then acused her of being a lesbian, to which she said "you wish"

Steve if icq is off check csports.net and type in 'The Anusol Applicatorrrr'. To find my location If Last box on right is highlighted I am playing on line somewhere. Click on box to find out where.

I tried to play last night, but I didn't have the correct maps installed. I've been looking around the CS websites but can not see where to download them. There are some on Barrysworld, and some descriptons of others, but no links to download them (dust and 747 for example). Where do I get these from? There are no links on the counter-strike.net site either...

Mines 133233646 - Haven't played with you guys yet as I have so much lag/latency? Currently at around 400 at best. Tried adjusting my rate but no better. Help!!!!
Also - I'm sure theres a prog. that will run your ICQ and Messenger together. Anybody know what it's called?

Joined the game briefly tonight but fore some reason my inferno map didn't match that of the servers and I got kicked.
In trying to reduce my latency found a web site that creates a new autoexec file. Wasn't too sure where to save it - half life, CS directory. Anyone provide any help. My ping/latency was at 420 tonight. You guys seem to run with 60-100.
Am I the only 56k modem player?

i suffer **** crap connection every session on my 56k.
i'm getting to the point of stopping playing. just not worth it when people ping at 30-100.
hope u get your conn sorted and join the guys for a game soon. can u get adsl where u r ?

With a 56k modem a good ping is between 150 - 200 depending on the modem and ISP etc. A few things can be tweaked to reduce this, there loads of sites on it.
Most of the guys seem to be on isdn, adsl or cable modems and with only Steve left to battle with 56k.
Autoexec.cfg files should be placed within the cstrike directory.

I've got NTL cable and the ping is absolute ****e compared to other "cablers" who usually achieve 30-40 pings. I usually get 80-100 but this often goes as high as 150-250.
Strangly enough though, if I'm downloading large files I get more than reasonable rates of 55-75kb/s.
I feel to embarrased to phone up NTL to complain that my CS ping is crap (if I can be bothered to wait an hour on the "technical support" phone line that is!)

Fink I've said this before, but if your using my server, you'll probably get a better ping time through Freeserve. Im on single channel ISDN and normally pull around 50ms, so if you dial into FS via 56k modem, I don't see why u should go over 100, but that does depend what exchange your call terminates on, before being zapped into IP land...
