Can you please confirm that the pictures are of the Induction Kit with the feed to the bumper .. ie the £328 package .. and not the £150 Induction Kit alone.

Is it possible to get pictures of just the £150 Induction Kit installed if this is so ?

Additionally, are you able to list explicitly what is in each package and especially what extra items are included in the £328 package ?

.. altered colour coded fog lamp covers .. both offside and nearside, or just offside ?
.. cold air intake hose ?
.. filter enclosure ?
.. fitting clips etc ?
.. fitting instructions ?

Also .. I am pretty sure that behind my fog light cover I have a black plastic 'box' and so not sure how the hose would fit. Thoughts/advice ... I have a MY05 JDM Sti.

So is the £150 just for the induction kit and nothing else? So if you wanted the cold air feed to the wheel arch you would have to purchase some additional cold air intake hose? how much would that be?

The way I understand it, the £150 buys you the induction kit and piping to get it to the existing feed in the wing (that the current air box connects to).

I'd just like to get my hands on it now!

Kit comes with the cold air feed !!
Enough to go from the induction kit to the bumper.

I have the £150 apollo kit (although have yet to fit it - been raining everytime I have a bit of spare time)
You get the induction kit, full colour installation guide and a length of pipe that once fitted to the induction kit will be long enough to go into the wing (but would not reach the fog light area). It looks very well made, nice and solid. Installation is pretty involved, you have to drill a hole in your existing bracket to fit the induction kit to and if you want the cold air feed you have to take back the wheel arch liner (got some extra clips from my local Subaru garage today - some our bound to break).

Sorry in the delay of response.............

£150.00 Kit includes :
Apollo kit Black or Silver
Attatchment with cold air feed which can be left in the wheel arch liner...or....

£328 kit includes :
Apollo Kit Black or Silver
Attatchment with cold air feed
Plus.....the Zero sports cold air feed fog lamp covers - unpainted.
This is the only reason that this kit is more expensive.

The fog lamp covers are viewable on our website and have the cold air feed holes both n/side & o/side which include the relevant fixings etc.

If you have a plastic box in your inner wing this is part of the resonator to the OEM air box and will need to be removed to locate the cold air feed to the fog lamp cover.

Full colour photographic instructions are included in all kits.

21 BHP is certainly possible, but very few companies actually try to figure out what the real gain is....

Say you fit a decat. You get more power. But you also get more boost. And you get more airflow, which will probably not exhibit a linear relationship with boost. OK, so the car makes more power, but you don't know WHY. Is it just that it's now running more boost ? What power would it make at the original boost pressure ? How is the normalised airflow with the new exhaust compared to the original ? This last item, normalised airflow, is the REAL gain from the exhaust, how much better the engine breathes at the same boost pressure... you could ask yourself, "what power would it have made with the cat still in place, but at the boost pressure that is runs without the cat present" ? Food for thought...

Now to get on to the subject of induction... the MAF sensor housing on the New Age car is integral with the air box lid. Any time you fit an induction kit, the airflow scale WILL be affected. Some kits, such as the K&N Typhoon are inherently safe, since they over-read, which costs power. Some other kits like the original Blitz are inherently unsafe because they under-read, which costs engines (and explains why the kit was withdrawn from the market).

Just where this kit lies in that broad spectrum has yet to be determined. What we do know is that the kit improves power, so therefore it either under-reads (making the engine run leaner and with more ignition) or it increases airflow without adversely affecting the airflow scale. A copy of DeltaDash would have easily shown which was the case; the normalised engine load will tell you relatively how well the engine is breathing.... if the normalised load goes down but the power goes up, the scale is wrong, if it goes up and the power goes up, you're onto a winner Another useful measurement would have been to fit a manometer to measure the inducer depression, which will have a direct effect on compressor pressure ratio and isentropic compressor efficiency, or to put it in simple words, if the kit breathes easier, the turbo doesn't have to work as hard to make the boost, so it has an easier time of it and is more efficient It is also entirely possible, expected even, that with a lower inducer depression you'de initially achieve a higher discharge pressure (ie get more boost), which brings us back full circle to the exhaust dilemma... is it the boost or is it just breathing better (just with induction we have a third variable... airflow scale).

It would be foolish to simply dismiss a 21BHP gain as impossible without knowing the full facts surrounding the testing. It might, for example, be a combination of all three. It might be simply more efficient. Or it might be all down to airflow scale..... only when you have all the data will you ever be able to figure it out, and we don't have the data so it is pointless speculating!

What is the correction factor correcting on that dyno graph?

And if they are back to back runs 11am and 3pm (4 hours to fit ) Why are the correction factors different? 4.1(x), compared with 4.5(x)

Were they done with engine and transmission oil and tire temps the same?

Hi Dave
Boss man Glenn is on his hols so couldnt get a direct answer on the factors above - but there has been some very valid points made.

When the car was at K&N, they also did fit checks on all current new age 2.0ltr Ind kits to see if they were compatible with the 2.5.
They had our demo for a total of 48 hrs in total and wanted to use ours as a mule while we left it with them. Werent aware of the time differences until you mentioned them....well spotted!!!
We had no influence on how they set up the car and we can only summise that they ran std and Apollo on a like for like basis.......otherwise K&N and Revolution would'nt look good.

Hope this helps answer the points raised.

Would the induction kit work with a 03 WRX PPP? I asked someone at our club about fitting a induction kit and they said they were not very good for turbo cars? Any ideas
