Seems to me, that if you still want her if she hasn't done anything, then you still have the basis for a relationship. It seems the only reason you can't be bothered at the moment is that you suspect the worst.

Her recent behaviour has caused a lack of trust on your behalf and you need to explain that to her and see where it goes. Relationships without trust don't tend to last long.

And yes I still think you should spend some hard earned to find out for sure whats going on, other wise your just going to go cold on the relationship to protect yourself

Just take a days holiday on a day that your wife intends to take your eldest to see the crackhead, don't tell her you're having the day off, go to 'work' and go park where you can the the crackheads parents house. Wait and see how long she's in there for, and how they are together when she leaves the crackheads house (if she goes in at all).
Either that or get a mate to follow her for you so she doesn't recognise your car.
At the moment all you've got that worries you is that text and the fact she leaves the room when he phones, hardly damning evidence!
