Nope you can't watch it as it doesn't download from beginning to end..
It comes through in little pieces that slowly merge together until you have the full picture.
It will play if you try but it'll be like watching a scratched CD.

Overview of 1st Episode of Series three
**Possible slight spoilers so don't read if you feel that way..**

The aptly-named “Lost” returned to the airwaves yesterday, but like “Boston Legal”, it’ll take quite a lot more than a single strong premiere to resolve even most of the loose ends of last season.
What “Lost” does resolve is the fate of the island’s Big Three - Dr. Jack Shephard (Matthew Fox), James ‘Sawyer’ Ford (Josh Holloway) and Kate Austen (Evangeline Lilly). The trio were betrayed by their friend, fellow castaway Michael (Harold Perrineau), into the hands of the mysterious Others: a enigmatic group who have maintained a shadowy presence on the island since the plane crash stranded the survivors in the first place.
The first episode of the third season succeeds in both demystifying and re-mystifying the Others. We open up something as simple as a woman named Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) going through everyday tasks and heading a book club discussion on Stephen King. Five minutes the plane crashes and we soon realize we’re in the middle of the Others’ guarded community - idealistic and almost suburban. But all is certainly not what it appears, as the Other leader Ben (Michael Emerson) orders two of his men to infiltrate the surviving passengers at the drop of a hand - as if he’s been expecting this.
The remainder of the episode centers around the plight of the imprisoned trio - and Jack in particular, who tries to logically escape his prison while fostering painful flashbacks of his marriage’s failure. The Others, who claimed to be “the good guys” during the 2nd Season Finale, seem intent on breaking their will. Ben describes the next two weeks to Kate as being “unpleasant”, and we already seen a taste of that this episode - Juliet plays mind games with Jack while Ben twists Kate’s words out of context and toys with her feelings for Sawyer, who is locked inside a bear cage and treated like an animal.
The episode remains extremely Other-centered. It is very interesting how the prisons built for Jack, Sawyer and Kate all resemble their interior character. Jack’s underwater prison is dismal and utilitarian. Sawyer’s cage is dusty and feral, while Kate’s handcuffed sea-side breakfast with Ben is feminine and defiant. The premiere keeps up in suspense in what the Others are going to do next, but offers little easy answers as to exactly who they are. Next episode looks to tie up more loose ends as the rest of the survivors attempt a rescue.
Looking over the TV schedule these days, it is interesting to note how “Lost” has influenced television both during this past season and the present one. After the success of the show, it became extremely difficult for the networks to imitate “Lost” - because quite frankly no one knows what exactly “Lost” is. So the last season saw the boom in shows using the perceived sci-fi/horror beat of the show. Of these shows only “Supernatural” and “Medium” actually survived first season. Now the networks are turning towards more character-driven pursuits, including “Heroes” and “The Nine”. Since I doubt we’ll only come mere footsteps closer to understand what “Lost” is by the end of the season, it’ll be interesting to see how both the show, and the television industry as a whole, evolve in the ongoing tango between innovation and imitation.

Just got round to watching it (download finished after I went to bed last night)
Was that an exercise in getting Jack to let go...
ARRRRGHH my head hurts now.
More and more I think that this Island is the afterlife.
The pearly gates if you will..
You are tested to beyond the limit before you are "let through"..
Who knows.

The basis of the story is the end of the world and the numbers are the calculation of when it will happen, everything in between this is looking for ways to manipulate these numbers thus changing the fate of the human race.
Thats what ive concluded from all the info ive read (check U-tube for the explanation about the numbers)

Aww poor freckles doesn't know which way to turn.
Do you think it's ALL an act though (due to the flashbacks with her previous life)
It was good though?
Can't wait until Feb though, going to go spare!!
