In all fairness everybody goes to enjoy the day.. its not very fair that the same people do the tedious jobs while everyone else enjoy themselves.. like the fact that i marshall voluntarily.. we're all one big group so everyone should lend a hand.. on a good note my friend luke n myself thoroughly enjoyed ourselves (luke was particulary happy with the rides in JB, Dazza and Simons cars )

I agree Shaun. Previously we have just turned up and gone on track with the disposable BBQ's getting pulled out of my boot at lunchtime. If the markeeee and proper BBQ is a permanent feature then a crew needs to be assigned to it with enough bodies to make it a quick exercise, and the persons rotated around club members each time. Although I do get a few runs on track, I too spend the day flitting from one place to another trying to keep the show running and making sure everyone is safe and happy, but rest assured I appreciate all the help you have given over the years and I and the club need to ensure that you are rewarded for your kind and volutary contribution to the event. The same with Al, whom opts not to track but is always there for the club and the event. The markeeee will add to the sociable side of the event, especially when there is a reason to utilise it. The good weather made it a bit redundant this time, but I'm sure if the weather turns bad it would be packed, so justifying it. With the dual controls in my car I have intentions to do some track tuition at some point for you and some of the other club youngsters. I will need to clarify the legal postion with Rallydrive, but I think as long as you are over 14 and can reach the pedals it should be OK. Would that be of interest to you ?

Dave's right.

The Markee & BBQ took a lot of effort to put up and take down.. Paul & Debbie would have been left with quite a task when they got home to store the poles and canvas... The gas issue was a bit of a ****-up and for one Mr B & Mr Q will be receiving a letter for providing an Outer Mongolian Gas regulator...so no issues there, though it was a major pain to finally sort it..

But for a day when everyone is there to enjoy the track, then the work needed for the tent & food stuff, which has grown to large proportions to accommodate the club, is simply too much to invest.

People can't be blamed for wanting to get straight on track and to get off home for other commitments, but a lesson has been learned in wanting to take a Markee, tables, chairs, BBQ, Food etc that takes a good few hours to put up and get ready...and then an hour or so to take down to an event that means only a few people will be able to do work on it.

More planning will be required for future events, but I'd hope that somewhere like the NBO or other shows will be different because there'll be plenty of people around..

Next time I may not open the track until the facilites are ready, so the quicker everyone mucks in, the sooner the fun begins

There's 4 body shaped mounds just behind the tent where the 4 people who asked 'having fun?' are buried...

Not pointing any fingers, just looking for ways to ensure everything is as good as it can be for everyone.

Becouse i found it funny watching lots of people eating foud sitting on the thing with big holes in it under a loo, and no one noticed I did mention it whilst passing a couple of times but it fell on deaf ears... so i just had a chuckle to myself...
