Thanks Goon, as you say these are quality units unlike alot of cheap copies out there.

I wasnt aware of the issues about cooling the bulbs down etc, but I will approach my contact at Genuine Auto's and have this clarified for everyone asap!

I'm still to fit my 2 kits... I have a new age so got one kit for dips and one set for spots - main beam is hardly worth it considering only use them 0.000000000002% of the time and only to flash ppl (which is rare).

I'm waiting for kit for my blobeye STi, Does anyone know how to get the small "fog light" covers off so I can place ballasts same as Bockett, its not the whole bumper end as it is on his bugeye.

Thanks, Diccy.

Fitted mine today

Even though mine is an STI prordrive the same as Bockets i mounted the balast brackets on the front chassis rails.

This is because i have an air intake through one of my fogs.

They look awesome, only problem is the other lights look ****e

frayz, thanks,

Space around the chassis rails looks tight. I'll have to wait for kits then will be able to offer up, I'm sort of guessing at the moment. I've put Halfords Super Brilliance in main beam and I've ordered 4300K H1 dips as my main interest is seeing where I'm going so should look OK. Will post what I think when fitted.

Cheers, Diccy.

Hi Diccy,
YHPM on how to get the fog covers off..

Once they're off if you fell up under the headlamp unit there is a shelf the the ballasts will sit flat on (slightly over hanging) and I used some thick (6mm) number plate sticker pads (halfords) which are water proof and VERY strong. Provided you clean the surface thoroughly with meths or alcohol wipes, once positioned in place they ain't going anywhere. Quick and simple without any drilling. The ballasts also get plenty of cool air, which is recommended and the pads offer some vibration protection.

This location is almost purpose made IMHO..

Give it a try (pads are only a few quid) and if you're not happy fit as 'Bocket' using the brackets (although, iirc, the blobeye is different behind the fog cover, so it's not that straight forward).

HTH
Jason

Jason,

Thanks, think I'll do it your way as brackets look tricky. Square crossmember at front also useful to run the relay cable and hide spare length. Just need the kit to arrive now.

Many thanks, Diccy.

Alex_00s.
Any news back from your contact about flicking the HIDs straight back on after flicking them off yet?

Forgot to mention last time, thanks for a superb group buy by the way.

Steve.

Ahhh you're all too kind, too kind...

beensoldaduffscooby I havnt heard back yet regarding the flicking... I cant remember if I actually asked that question as I've been busy with a few other bits and bobs, but I will ask again to make doubly sure that one gets dealt with!

marmski this GB is as active as my bum after a full can of baked beans - there's no stopping it!

If you'd like to place an order, check page 1 for the email address payments need to be sent to with the additional info they need, bulb size, colour etc.

Default 8000k watch out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

had blue side lights on my old blue mica classic got stopped several times by the rozzers who told me to take them out as police and emergency vehicles are the only ones that can have blue lights at the front so 8k at your peril!!!!

Yep still open mate and delivery to Ireland is at no extra cost!

Jump onto page one and run thru the 1st post for all the details. Delivery is usually within a week (or just a couple days), but as its coming upto Xmas I'm not sure how much that'll delay it?

ps: Scooby Singh as above mate, follow the instructions on page 1!

If you have a blob eye then you dont need the bi-xenon kit as thats for dual beam as with H4 bulbs on Classics...

I have a blob eye then what you will need is a single beam for dips and another single beam for full beam.

I believe that on blob eyes dips are H3 and full beam are HB3 or 9005's? Can some one confirm and let Rasheed know (or you could check your car manual?)

Question

Just to run through the obvious (sorry, really tried to go through as many posts as I could but after 9 pages it just starts repeating!)

I'm after one of these for a MY05 but as far as fitting goes, are there any instructions?

Cheers
PJ

IMHO mate I wouldn't fit them to main beam as they take several seconds to reach full brightness and strictly speaking their not designed to be switched on off, on off (ie flashing). The Bi kits don't have this problem as the HID is already on (as dipped) and only a shade is moved to give full beam IYSWIM..?

I've not long ago fitted a single kit (6000k) to my dipped (05 WRX) and they're truly excellent, however I wouldn't fit them to main beam for the above reasons, even though the halogen mains look like candle light compared to the dipped HID. Saying this I've found that I don't need to use full/main beam half as much as the dipped HID's are soooooooo good..

Try a set of dipped and see, if you still fancy the full beams then re-order, you'll have only lost the £5 saving. I think you'll see what I mean doing this and save some £££..
