2k is the type of paint mate 1k and 2k one u dont have to use laqure if not metalic...

2k has nothing to do with laquer.

1k or single pack is simply solvent based and dries normally

2k has a catalyst hardener that is cyanide based. Its a harder more durable paint.

I think you mean basecoat and laquer which can be used with both types.
