On the flip side the comander of the last Space Shuttle flight was called Brent Jett. There's a name destined for only one job in life.

So onto the list of crappy 'modern' kids names that will brand these children as scumbags through the rest of their lives and lead to a job either as prostitutes/prison/drug addict or at Maccy-D's if they are lucky.

Girls

Jordan
Bobbi-Jo (anything hyphenated means scum parents)
Ashleigh (or variation of that name)
Britney
Chelseigh (or variation)
Chantelle
Courtney (or variation)
Tyler
Madison (for a girl? clue it's madi-SON morons, it's a fecking boy's name)
Morgan

Boys

Ashley
Chayse
Curtis
Dwayne
Grant
Jordan
Kade
Kane
Mason
Mitchell
Troy
Tyler

Conversely children with decent names will have a better chance of growing up to be high achievers. Prospective parents be warned, Alice and Andrew are going to do better than the scum names listed above.
I agree completely, but I wouldnt comment were it not for the name highlighted above. Only a f*cking imbecile of the first order would call their son Cain for f*ck's sake! I presume that they saw it on Emmerdale, rather than read it in the Bible...?

It is difficult choosing names, finding something that isnt chavvy, isnt boring and isnt flavour of the moment, we wanted a Jack but so did just about everybody else in the whole of the UK at the time, plus with Jackson as a surname it wouldnt work.

Ended up with an Oscar, and Edward and an Alfred, have had some stick for Oscar by a colleague a while back but he was from Swinton where apparently with a name like that he would get battered, nice.

If you do a google on people called Mike Hunt it shows there are quite a few people that have to endure this moniker.

There is also a TV presenter called Chris Peacock.

Some parents must be stupid and/or naive.

I recall reading a list of bad names in FHM once (they claimed they were all taken from the register of births and deaths too, so were legitimate). Either way, some of them were hard to believe e.g. named after dictators, named with expletives etc...

My favourite, however, was someone who'd simply named their child:

"F**k Durex"

Poor sods!!

Ns04

BTW had a stand in science teacher at School called Mike Hunt! A little tip for anyone with a similar name. If you find yourself teaching 14 year olds, don't intoruce yourself by writing your name on the blackboard and not erasing it before you leave the classroom for a moment. This is technically known as "asking for it!"

Giving children christian names that are actually surnames (a fad within certain ethnic communities) and using nicknames as christian names pisses me off too.

I used to know a lass called Annette Kurtin.

I also used to HATE some of the chavvy names, starting with Chelsea.

However, I've met a few Chelseas now, and all were nice kids. I've also met kids with chavvy names and they've been OK at least at <11

On radio 1 just now, Scott Mills phoned a woman whose name is Anita Beaver.

Even funnier when she repeated her name as, because of her American accent, she pronounces the "t" in Anita as a "d".
