just had my quarterly statement for shell and noticed this:

Double litres on Mondays
When you fill up with Shell V-Power fuel on any Monday between the
11th September & 29th September inclusive.

isn't it typical you get this the day afteryou fill the tank up!

I've switched from Tesco 99 to V-Power, due to my local tesco charging the same (if not more) than my local shell.

MPG vastly improved (now closer to 300miles per tank when before it was around 250miles tops) and although it will change from car to car, it pulls so much better than it did before.

Will only ever use Tesco if I can't find a Shell when I need to.

i stuck some v power in the other day. only half a tank to top me up to make sure i'd make the journey home from colchester. i've noticed a difference already. only downside, my nearest shell garage is a 15 min drive away. could it really be worth it once a week to make the half hour round trip?

My nearest Shell garage is about 15 miles away, been going to there once a week for a while now to fill my '99 classic turbo on v-power, don't mind the treck there and back because of the reults, it loves it

Greenergy creates and supplies 99 Octane Super Unleaded petrol for sale at Tesco.

Tesco 99 Octane unleaded petrol is made up of a specially formulated mix of high quality petrol components, carefully blended to achieve higher octane and uniquely low levels of the deposit forming compounds present in all petrols.

Highly rated Fewer deposits Raw results

The fuel has an octane rating Research Octane Number (RON) of 99 (typical 99.4) and minimum Motor Octane Number (MON) of 87 (typical 88). Comparatively, standard unleaded petrol is rated at 95 RON and 85 MON and ordinary super unleaded at 97 RON and 86 MON.

Tesco 99 Octane also contains low levels of olefinic compounds, typically less than 5%, compared with up to 18% in standard petrols. These compounds can lead to the creation of engine deposits. To ensure Tesco 99 Octane remains ‘cleaner’ petrol, an additive package is included with twice the protective power of typical 95 octane fuel. It removes existing deposits and helps the engine to run more smoothly.

We also typically include 5% bioethanol – a clean and pure ultra high-octane component which is also renewable to help cut greenhouse gas emissions.

Unlike any other fuel company, we publish the actual quality of our fuel on our website. We also test our competitors’ fuel to make sure we stay ahead. But it’s not up to us to publish their fuel quality results – so why not ask for them direct?

Recent independent testing has shown Tesco 99 Octane to outperform other forecourt fuels - see: The Thorney Motorsport website for more details.

Tesco 99 Octane is the Official Fuel of the British Rally Championship. More.
