haven't been to a meet for maybe 2 years .... was driving back from London and stopped in at Poesy's house (white FQ400 evo) ... he persuaded me to jump in with him.
I think with the amount of disruption i.e. Limehouse tunnel closed, roadworks at the Dartford and Battersea park closed the run was ****ing well organised and lead. With so many cars people are going to get lost and split from the pack but that is just a fact of life ... as long as everybody has their own little adventures and had fun then who cares. Everybody knew the run would end up at Battersea and at some point you are bound to run into other drivers ... as we did.
Just so happens that after leaving battersea we ended up parked up with a Mercedes MacLaren SLR, Lambo Murcialago LP640 & a Lambo Murci Roadster outside 50 St James. even got a chance to have a look inside the MacLaren!!! Made the night for me.
Usually the essex meets are dominated by the same characters hogging the limelight and regimenting the convoys. this one was not at all like that and was a more happy go lucky do what you want blat - the way it always was and should be today. No self loving ***** were present and everybody was very friendly and in the spirit. Nice to meet whoever I met last night (can't remember the names) ... if more meets were like last night I would come to them. Alas I think it was a one off, which is a massive massive shame.

To all the guys and ladies I led into London from the Dome, it was a pleasure and i'm glad we managed to stay together.
I totally agree with Em, smaller units of convoy(s), each having a lead that knows the route is far better than one or two leading a 'batallion'. No doubt peeps will get lost but it can be managed better i.e stopping @ lights or after lights to re-group.
Glad you all had fun, looking forward to next years and please note, the exit to join the M25 is always closed when we 'RUN', instead of going on the A13, double back unto the M25 by going under the bridge.

.( bloody road works on M1) .

, hope you got a few quid collected. Thanks to the DELL BOY CHAP who was selling ESC mugs from the back of his motor ...LOL
, i got mine.
verry nice. spoke to several people but i dont think they knew who i was ...
. Good to see one of the quickest scoobies about.. turn up late ....PAVLO & LIZ in the ZEN CAR.
After leaving Thurrock i was following a load of motors and when i turned of on the A13 london bound i seem to had lost everybody , you all decided to go round and round the rounderbout..
. after that it went wrong nobody knew where they was going .. The blackwell tunnel was fun.
. when we were was waiting to turn right at Big Ben a few cars was popping flames in the traffic jam until a cop car pulled allong side and i think he pulled him over . ( a wagon i think cannot remember... it was last night ..LOL

. no problems on the way through , plenty of flames and noise ..
but on the way back through we got stuck behind a fuel tanker and a tunnel police convoy ...so not much noise and flame at 20 mph behind the convoy ... Headed home after that and on the way back to scoobies went flying past me ..
. it was B4D HK and his brother from brum ... had a little play and got back to northampton at 02.30 am. I look forward to the next one .

Can I just clear up a little misconception that the Police closed the tunnels specifically for this event.
This is not the case.
The Dartford bridge crossing has been undergoing routine maintenance for the last two weeks. The slip was closed at the lakeside junction (Jnc 31) as this slip only leads to the bridge. So if the bridge is closed they have to close this slip specifically to prevent people entering the bridge and the slip is too far forward to get diversions in place for the tunnel diversions.
As someone already stated you still can access the tunnels but you have to go one junction back (Jnc 30).
Please don't blame the Police. I think you'll find the 2 nice Policemen in the EVO actually called to find out if it was going to be open later on to assist you.
Hope that clears it up.

Every now and again last night we met up with scoobs we didn't know and they were like "where the **** are we going" and we were like "have no idea but lets head to battersea" ... then more joined up enroute and it was a 10 car convoy. Absolute class.
I'm glad Neil persuaded me to jump in with him last night ... every single person was safe as houses and not up themselves in any way. Nice to see some non scoobs too. Pulsars, Supras, Golfs with mental sounds ... all helped make it a good night ... good to see other cars getting the attention and limelight instead of the usual.

Hi Everyone !
Some 700 miles of Tarmac eaten up & "TOTALLY BAFFLED" by the Concrete Jungle of London ! we'r now back in CORNWALL !
I say "Totally Baffled" as I've lost mine
(BLITZ NUR SPEC BAFFLE) somewhere after the BLACKWALL TUNNEL area !! Tink Tink was the Noise as it Rattled down the road...so if you find it its MINE !!!
I dare'nt STOP cuz if I had I'd have Lost the few Scoobs I was with !
MAYHEM Start as we went round the rounabout after the Services about 3 times !! This was where we went wrong !! I now know what /where we should have gone !!So MISSED DARTFORD TUNNEL Run COMPLETELY, Headed out to A13 + Blackwall Tunnel !! GREAT STUFF with the few Scoobs we BLITZED thru with !! Then LOST again !! THANKS to DAZZA (Darren)
,he then led us into London - Embankment & meet up with Everyone else, Flames lickin' out of some of the Cars - Terrific Stuff !
then off round Westminster + a re-Group along Some road somewhere???
Re-Start + all was fine till started getting split up at lights etc.. then whilst chasing 2 Scoobs Think one may have been Nate (with the Noisy horns) ..DISASTER
...LOST em both + didnt know which route theyd gone ? Not knowing where to go we picked a road & ended up in EUSTON !!!!!!!
Traffic absolute Nightmare !! now completely lost
& alone
we decided to head for the Motorway & evetually back to Thurrock. By time we arrived everyone was just getting ready to do another run...being Totally nakered with all the Driving & excitement we chose to hit the Sack !!
Had a great time, just PITY we got a bit Lost !! but these things happen !! Perhaps the idea of smaller Groups, each with a leader that knows the way & staggered starts ! Dunno, very difficult to do but HATS off to all who Organised this one & raised Money for a good cause !
Would do it all again BUT "NEXT TIME CAN I FOLLOW RIGHT BEHIND THE LEADER "!!
Cheers all Duracell
P.S SORRY this is a bit long !

All the way from Cornwall, you are either real hardcore or a complete nutter!

I have to agree with everyone, that this was one great night. I have only had my car for a couple of months and haven't quite managed to get to any of the local meets yet, so trying to keep up with 100+ cars who I didn't know was always going to be difficult.
Thankfully, my brother-in-law brought his walkie talkies, because we were probably in the last 15-20 cars to leave and there were 2 messages coming through - 1 said skip the tunnel and go to the Dome, the other said we are going to the Dartford Tunnel. After going round the A13 roundabout and watching cars going off in all directions (including the M25 towards the A127!) we finally chose the A13 and caught a group up at Lodge Avenue. The Blackwall Tunnel was great and then we got lost along with one of the Catalunya cars (sorry if you was following me!!). Finally arrived at the Dome just as everyone sped off again.
We caught the lead car up at Millbank Tower, and somehow was amongst the first 8 cars there........I still haven't worked out how that happened,
.
Chatted to Milamber and Vega without introducing myself
....sorry about that (I had Mazza on my shirt and my name is Paul - a bit late I know).
Finally, after pulling off the A13 for a wee (there was no wayI would have made it back to the services) caught up a blue scoob and a white Evo and had a little play (Scoob was V22** - lovely car!), they went off down the A13 and we decided to go back to the services for the Dartford Tunnel.
The 2 runs through the tunnel were awsome, going back into Essex especially....I thought I heard they stopped other traffic coming through whilst we were going through, was that true?
Finally got home about 2am, was expecting to be home before that but didn't mind although getting up at 6.30 this morning was hard work, but 2 year olds don't know the clocks have changed!
Anyway, that's my story, sorry to bore you all, but the wife wasn't interested in the story and wanted to tell someone!
Hopefully see you at a meet sometime.
thanks again for great night Milamber, hope we raised a decent amount of cash for a worthy cause!

Yep a great night was had by all. Dispite the dartford tunnel roundabout game of lets see who get dissy first we all managed to get to the dome where we had a great welcome from the bus drivers
Then came a message over the radio saying the police were on there way and soon after it looked like a scean from Fast & Furious with cars scattering all over the place. As for the 2 silver sti's that went so fast through the blackwell tunnel towards the A13 cheers for nearly wipping me out the wife would love to get her hands on you
This is where the fun began. All the group that were with me got seperated some went over tower bridge others were not seen again(probably still in london now). I bet there will be a few speeding tickets on doorsteps monday morning as 5 cars went fast me doing warp factor 9 in a 30mph spec area(ouch). We did not manage to make it to Battersea as we stoped for the rest of the Bucks group to re group as some of them got well lost. After regrouping we headed for the last meeting point Mac D's where we had a mass walk through (pmsl) Mark B4 where's the pics? Anyway a big thanks to all that organised the run next year should be fun. Wazzo look forward to meeting up with all you guys soon MK on Sunday 5th could be good.Cheers.
Iain & Bucks Scooby Crew.
