• Meet at Thurrock Services Main Car Park @ 9 p.m. (Junction 30 - M25).
• Leave services @ 9.30 p.m. and join M25 towards Dartford Crossing.
• Through tolls and continue M25 to junction *1b* Princes Road Interchange.
• Leave via slip road, circumnavigate roundabout and re-join M25(A282) back towards crossing.
• Through tolls again and through Dartford tunnel. Spread out a bit at the toll booths so we all get through in a reasonable time.

• Exit M25(A282) at junction *30* (2nd exit after tunnel) and join A13 – London bound.
• Continue A13 – The leaders will need to keep the pace down a bit here to allow everyone to catch-up due to traffic lights at M25/A13 junction. I suggest the leaders do about 40 in the 70 zone just to let the stragglers at the tunnel catch up.
• Watch out for new speed cameras on A13 around Beckton/A406 junction. In particular, immediately you descend the Movers Lane flyover there is a 40mph speed camera.

After a few miles you will pass a BP petrol station on your left. You will shortly after have to follow the signs for “Central London/Blackwall Tunnel.

• Stay in the left hand lane on A13 approaching the Canning town flyover, once over the flyover continue STRAIGHT AHEAD towards Blackwall Tunnel. You pull up at some lights with the Financial Times building on your left. You need to be in the left hand lane at this point as we will be turning left at the next lights to join the Blackwall Tunnel southbound. We will get queued up at this point, don’t worry.

Once through the tunnel take the first proper slip road (ignore the tiny left turns) and turn left at the roundabout down Millennium Way. Follow this all the way to the end and park up at the side of the road to regroup in front of the Millennium Dome….

We then head off after the regroup, back up Millennium Way to the roundabout and Take the 3rd exit (basically turn right!) Keep in the very right hand lane. It is a one way street at this point so keep to the very right.

Rejoin the A102 and go through the Northbound Blackwall tunnel. Watch out for the speed camera just before the entrance. Keep in the left hand lane and take the very first slip road as you exit.

This has some traffic lights, at this point keep in the very right hand 2 lanes and continue straight on. Do not take the left hand lanes. Continue along East India Dock Road. Keep your eyes open for the Rotherhithe Tunnel entrance…… we are not doing that this year but we take the next left down Butcher Row.

Keep in the RIGHT HAND LANE and continue along The Headway.

• As you approach Tower Bridge Keep in the left hand or middle lane but DO NOT turn left onto the bridge!
• Keep the Tower of London to your left and follow the road.

• The first bridge we pass under is London Bridge, make some noise but watch out for the Cameras along this stretch.
• Continue along Upper Thames Street and through the Blackfriars underpass
• Continue along Embankment (with the river to your left) under Waterloo Bridge.

At all time keep the river to the left of you. If it isn’t YOU ARE LOST.

• Keep going until you come to a “T” junction at Big Ben, turn right and then keep in the left hand lane and turn left, keeping Parliament to your left.
• Keep going along Millbank, straight over the Roundabout at Lambeth Bridge and keep going again past Vauxhall Bridge.
• The leaders should at this point be able to pull up along the side of the road, this are is mainly residential/offices and should not be busy with parked cars, re-group if we can. There is a large layby just after the petrol station. Pull in here to regroup again.

• We then go UNDER Grosvenor Bridge and TURN LEFT onto CHELSEA BRIDGE
• Keep going straight on until you get to the roundabout and double back on yourself. The leaders will pull over along this road and allow the backmarkers to re-group. The park will be shut at this time of night.

• Retrace your steps over the bridge and turn right. The lights will split us up so the leaders will stop again to allow everyone to catch up. We can then head into Parliament square in convoy.

Follow your steps back along Millbank, into Parliament Square and back along the Embankment. Keep the river on your right hand side.

The Limehouse link might be shut at this point. If it is then turn left up Butchers Row and turn right at the end. After a mile we then TURN RIGHT into West India Dock Road/Aspen Way. It will be signposted for Docklands/Excel.

• Continue along Aspen Way (with Canary Wharf on the right) and exit to the left before the flyover. Turn right (4th exit) off the roundabout under the flyover and into McDonalds for a pit stop On exiting McDonalds, take the 3rd exit on main roundabout and stay in left hand lane to another roundabout with an Esso garage (NOT through tunnel!!!), take 2nd exit on roundabout towards A13.

• The Hardcore might want to go back to the Dartford Tunnels again for another couple of runs, if not then it’s the End of the Run

• Be careful, drive safely and within speed limits. No-one wants their evening ruined by getting 3 points. Flame the tourists……

Remember the toll charge is £1 each way so make sure you have some £1 coins to keep the flow fast through the Tunnels
Caution....There are loads Speed cameras on this route with limits including 20mph, 30mph, 40mph & 50mph! Keep your eyes peeled!!! (and the Road Angels updated ) You have been warned!

Maps for the tunnel run can be found on this link

Hi Everyone !

Thinking of attending this Event !!

Could someone Please tell me roughly what time it will all finish ?

We would be coming from CORNWALL (bit of a Trek) ! but having purchased the "TUNNEL RUN 2" DVD a while back,I'm thinking...YEH GO FOR IT !!! May have to find some accomodation to stop the night when it finishes (long drive home) ! ,any recommendations ?

Couple of other things what are the chances of getting lost on the Run,do all of you pretty much keep together ?? I see there are Maps, but I dont have a Walkie Talkie , obviously would'nt want to travel all that way to loose the main pack ! Sorry to ask this but you all know sometimes this happens on Events like this & I DON'T KNOW MY WAY ROUND THE BIG CITY !!!

Also are there any other groups , people going from the South West upwards to Convoy up with via M5 / M4 ? If so where you meeting and what time ?

One last thing ! is there a Prize for furthest travelled !! if not hope you will get us on Film for the DVD ,if we make it. ; )

By the way its Duracell + quite a few of you already know me from ?? !!!

THANKS Duracell

Welcome on board Duracell you nutter

What can I say, cornwall!!!

The route is actually rather easy to follow provided there are no diversions (like last year). Provided you keep the river on the left on the way in and then keep it on the right on the way back you will be ok.

Do you have satnav, that would make things easier?

So far as hotels are concerned whats your budget? there are a few travellodge type places nearby and of course central london is part of the route so you could splash out and make a weekend of it

We generally finish about midnight'ish maybe a little later depends on how keen you are at going through the dartford tunnel.....

Come along, you'll love it

Borrowing a satnav would be great but only if you know how to use it they can be damned infuriating if you don't

Found you a hotel at the services we leave from £54-00 for the room - click here

Default Essex Air Ambulance collecting bits and pieces....

...got some collecting tins, stickers, posters etc from the Air Ambulance yesterday to use for the tunnel run......is everyone donating money (kinda like an entry fee to go on the run or is it just being used for merchandise)?

And who should i be giving the stuff too (will hopefully be at the lodge on thursday)...dont want to tread on anyone's toes

Maybe we should talk to them about making it an official event each year with them and the police etc on board (like they do with their motorbike run each year)........

Thanks

Ems :-) (aka the P.R. connection between ESC and the EAA)
