'Yes - if I screw up (and I do regularly!) I apologise. But you're not asking for the terrorists to apologise, you're asking for the peaceful Muslim leaders to apologise. The same one's who've been working hard to build bridges with other communities, and the same one's who apologised after 7/7 - the same one's whose apologies mean nothing to you.'

And the same who ones harbour the terrorists in their communities. I haven't seen one muslim leader stand up and condone anything outright

Probably because most Muslims do not condone murder of innocent people. You do know what condone means ?

For once I agree and understand your suspicions. If it does turn out to be true, can decent British muslims do anything to get rid of this terrorist cancer in their midst?

yes decent muslims can as decent white folk and decent hindu's and decent jews and others , when they can get rid of the cancers in their community and then muslims will be able to do that as well

and muslims dont need to apologise to anyone

do jews apologise the killings of lebanese and palestinians by the israeli's

and do white folk apologise if a white man kills a darkie

why should we apologise for something we didnt do

did u apologise for blair and bush's whitemans warmongery and christian fanatacism

no u didnt, its not your fault and it aint the fault of the muslims

Yes we can by rejecting this extremist, fervor stoking contingent. I am all for mixing and partaking in this rich tapestry of British/English culture. Some of my very best friends are English. This doesn't mean I have become an infidel or some other hideous apparition. Terrorism and violence can never ever be allowed to perpetrate at any level, least of all against innocent men, women and children.

So what can the muslims do specifically in your view moses? The alleged plot today will not be doing community relations any good if it turns out to be true.

Interesting that you think other communities somehow are afflicted by the same 'cancerous' problem.

All Muslims cannot be tarred with the same fanatical brush as the sad, brain washed idiots caught today. They are, in the minority. But, saying that, the minority must be removed. How I do not know but they do not deserve to be here

[quote=AllanB]UB just because you watched the Muslim documentary on TV recently it doesn't make you an expert. Anyway anybody can make up stats to show whaatever they want and I'm sure Tony Blair has everyone in fear of our Muslims communities to keep as all feeling like we need this fascist government.

Fact is most of the problems in the Middle East were caused by the UK at the turn of the century when we shafted the Arab nations when working with them to overcome the Ottoman empire. We then broke our promises causing some resentment but generally we were respected for working with them. Then after the current farcical wars for oil and the backing of Isreal we have aligned ourself, foolishly, as the puup/ biatch of the US.

It is about time this country behaved like a major power and made some decisins that come from the UK not the US.

The longer we back Israel the longer we become a target and our presence in Muslim countries and the co-alitions inability to create order makes us a target as people lives are destroyed daily.

I'm not for one second condoning the actions of the nutters but to suggest the whole community knows who these peple are is utter rubbish.

If we treat our Muslim neighbours with the contempt that some people show on here we will never integrate and these problems will remain continually. If you take the time to understand people its much easier to see thier ppoint of view and get yours across.

Short sighted,

Problem is the majority of the UK does not back Israel, its the spineless government that does. we used to be well respected in the Muslim world there were never any problems 90 years ago when Iraq was under colonial rule.
These days though we are seen as immoral pissed up yobs. Hit the nail on the head

They certainly don't deserve to be here Lesley. It is a blatant flouting of the freedoms accorded by this country.

You seem like quite a sensible chap. You should give up your life in muppets and become a community leader. Your country needs you!

This has certainly played a part. However it does not justify the actions of the terrorists. Great Britain was a superpower respected the world over, I think some of this respect can be regained by Tony Blair standing on his own two feet and listening to his own public. Not standing shoulder to shoulder with a man who goes to war with countries he couldn't point out on an atlas.

Mate I think common sense is fast becoming a diminishing commodity. It pains me to say it but my overriding emotion when I hear about these terrorist attacks, is not for the poor victims but a feeling of further alienation. Of guilty by association. These people do not represent me (the terrorists) and will never succeed in their quest.

This is my major gripe. I suffer guilt by association too just because I'm a darkie. I get stopped and questioned at almost every border now and that never used to happen.

P.S. UB, do you mean "unequivocally"

A good friend of mine has a typical yorkshire accent yet he looks albanian. he suffers the same problem. you should see people's faces when he speaks to them.

Problem is we can all identify with these terrorists. they're british born which makes it even worse than if they were bin ladens.

Do I win a prize?
A "pendant of the day" trophy would be a nice touch!

as long as uk muslims dont openly condemn the mass slaughter of iraqi muslims by iraqi muslims i cant understand the problem

as soon as israel killls a few palestinians then all hell breaks loose

this is a contradiction in terms
