Dunc here is my :-
PICTORIAL GUIDE TO FITTING A POD MOUNTED VFDS DATA MONITOR TO A MY03 WRX.
To remove the dash top pod sit in the passenger seat.Take a firm hold under the lip of the recess where the Clock & Alarm LED are with both hands.Pull sharply vertically upwards. It is VERY tight as you have to part six lugs from their slots.
DONT LEVER WITH A SCREWDRIVER YOU WILL KNACKER THE SURROUND
Once it's out press on the catch & unplug the Clock wiring connector.
Wiggle the Alarm LED housing & push it out through the front of the pod. Then carefully remove the LED from its housing & pull it back through the pod which is now free to put to one side.Put the LED housing somewhere safe as you need it later.
1. Hole for Alarm LED housing.
3. Pod mounting lugs. (Six in all)
7. Socket for Clock plug.

Fit the four screw thread fasteners in place. The back two push in from above & the front two slide in from the side.
Thread the small cable plug (Connector 1) up from under the driver's footwell to the top of the dash.
Thread the two bare ended wires of the Shift Light up to the top of the dash through the gap you get when you lower the steering column to its lowest point.
Connect the Shift Light wires to Connector 2.Solid black wire to pin 1 & black wire with silver tracer to pin 2.
1. Alarm LED without its housing.
2. Screw thread fasteners. (Four in all)
4. Locating pips. (Two in all)
5. Twelve pin Connector 2. (Shift light pin 1 & pin 2)
6. Five pin Connector 1. (OBD)
7. Clock plug.(No longer required)

Screw SECS unit in place making sure the plate fits over the locating pips at the front.
Attach Connector 1 & Connector 2.
Tape all loose wires together but keep as much slack as possible in Alarm LED wire. (you will need it later)
1. Alarm LED without its housing.
2. Screws. (Four in all)
3. Locating hole for pod lugs. (Two in all)
4. Locating pips. (Two in all)
5. Twelve pin Connector 2. (Shift light)
6. Five pin Connector 1. (OBD)

Slacken the two adjusting screws either side so you can only just move the face of the unit.
Adjust the face to line up with the aperture in the new pod & tighten adjusting screws.
Choose a location to fit the Alarm LED & drill a hole for the housing. (That you safely put to one side didn't you?
) Use the hole in the old pod as a drill sizer.
Push the LED & wire through the hole from behind, then attach the housing.Push the completed assembly back into hole for a neat finish.
I located my light on top of the pod along a mid line & towards the windscreen.
Locate pod lugs over the locating holes & push on feeding the guide lugs in at the back..

2. Screws. (Four in all)
3. Locating hole for pod lugs. (Two in all)
4. Locating pips. (Two in all)
8. Adjusting screw. (Two in all)

Plug the Shift light plug into the Shift Light socket.
Stick Shift Light to dash with double sided tape. (supplied in kit)
Plug OBD plug into OBD socket just to the right of the bottom of the steering column.
Tuck any trailing wire up under dash & cable tie it so it stays there.
Sit back & admire your work.

Switch on ignition & it should look like this.

Or even this.

So now you all know how easy it is to fit ~ there is no excuse not to get your name down on the list.

Tony.
The display is a green VFD which matches the green backlit dials & the outside temp display.

OK Thanks. I was kinda hoping for something more exact, like yes we do and it matches with a picture so that i could be sure that the red is the right choice. However, i guess they can make one to match is what you are saying.
