Laydeez and gentlemen.
Good morning and welcome to this live on-the-spot report from the Nostell trenches.
After a dodgy start to proceedings yesterday, things picked up a little and at one point we had between 6 and 8 cars on the stand (that'll be 7, then). The only disappointment being the fact that the stand could hold 50 or so more. Parking space is not an issue
Burgers were in plentiful supply, and the barbie was fired up for ceremonial nukings on request.
Tents went up at around 6pm, a gusty wind making life difficult for those with a 22 berth 'super' edition, otherwise known as 'the parachute'.
Nosh was later supplied in the form of the best Indian EVER. Dave using his contacts and influence to get food for 15 or so people ordered and delivered from Ossett directly to the WYIOC field HQ. Thanks Dave
Then we had some weather!
Whilst most of us retired to the lobby of our tent a few of the guys decided to be men, staying in the gayzeebo and making fire. The resultant destruction resembles a small controlled neuclear explosion, with fallout spread for a good 20 yards downwind. The major casualty in all this appears to be the bbq which ended up BEING the fire!!! Nothing that was remotely combustible survived, stakes marking out the field positions were writhed from the ground, boxes were torn up and cast into the flames, even the odd plastic bottle was smelted in the pursuit of heat. It has served us well, and would I'm sure, have given us many more years of trouble free cooking, but now it's just a shadow of it's former self. Matt's going to attempt CPR later today, but I'm not holding my breath.
As for now...
We're still having some weather, though the rain has gone overnight he's been replaced by some strong gusts of wind, some natural, others induced by the curry.
The dried-up harmless clumps of sheep **** have been rehydrated, which makes walking about and keeping you balance somewhat tricky!
If you're coming down to the front line today...
GOOD LUCK!

TBH our lot wasn't that bad, but there were loads of upturned gayzeebos on other stands this morning
For all WYIOC attendees...
We are about 150 yards on the right as you go through the entrance to the event field. There's loads of room for the cars on the stand, and someone will be there to ensure that you park in formation .
I'll report back on the state of the barbie ASAP so that you know whether or not to bother bringing anything to throw on it.
See you down here.

Well done guys Sorry I didn't make it down but when I spoke to Sticky I was over an hour away from getting there and it sounded like it was winding up. That and the weather, and my need to get to w*rk shortly after made this an awkward one for me. Will try to get to next years.
See you all soon.

All packed up and back safe and sound, hope everyone else is too.
What started out as a bit of a washout ended up turning into a decent weekend. Today's weather brightened up a bit, and the wind receded. The car park got a little fuller and the stand ended up fairly well occupied. Perhaps not full to bursting, but with a little careful positioning of cars it looked very respectable.
New members came in thick and fast, I have in my posession £60 in new membership money, and a tenner to start the ball rolling for the charity fund.
Quick rollcall for the new members;
Matt (Silver classic wagon with 8000 watts of ICE )
Stu Jackson (Silver classic, not exactly new, but subs paid in a failed bid to relieve a lttle Gay Times pressure )
Mark Richmond
Mike Kitchen (kitch)
Mick Bannister
Grant Leslie
Welcome to one and all. Not all of these guys have SN access so it may be a while before they post here, but they've been made aware of the EOM meets and run details, so lets hope we see them soon.
Dave, I also have a trackday deposit from Steve Jackson (22B), so you can put him down as confirmed please.
In all, although there wasn't that much to see there were plenty of faces, new and old, to have chats, natters and in-depth conversations with.
Pics to follow (Andy?)
Oh, an on a final note. Not wishing to rub any salt into any wounds, the SIDC 'stand' consisted on ONE car and a flag pole.

Thanks to Sticky for picking me up and bringing me back today and letting me sleep in the 'west wing' of the Sticky tent, saved me bringing my 20quid Tesco tent!
I think I owe some money into the Charity pot for that, so who's collecting?
Was a good weekend, least it did'nt rain during the day!
Btw whens the next WYIOC football match?

Guys & gals.. a heartfelt thanks and well done for a great turn out and some serious prize winning... Sorry I couldn't be there.. but even the dirty weekend was interrupted by other matters that needed some attention... (and no.. not a visit to the clinic... before anyone thinking they're funny pops that in... pun intended. )
Cheers Sticky for stepping in and taking the subs... and doing the formal stuff... I'll get it off you this week when we have the IOM org meet.
Do we need a new barbie, gayzeebo, tables and chairs after they were all burned to keep you all alive?
Simon - apologies again...
Yeah right..
Shall we ask them to affiliate to us???

What a good turn out all in all i can see the club growing well and i think compared to some clubs WYIOC should be winning not coming second as everyone is friendly and all pull together i can see us going far
and finnally i won a second place . 1st time ever i have won anything
look forward to more good organised events

Just a shame about the weather, my other half was struggling with that lovely british weather of ours.

Looking forward to the end of month meet Got a hell of a lot to learn concerning all things scooby
See you all soon
Cheers
Mike

This post started out as a thank you to individuals, but it got very long and I was worried that I might have missed something, so a BIG THANK YOU to all those who;
Brought food
Brought beer
Brought a Minibago with tea, coffee and hot water
Cooked
Cleaned (BBQ is SPOTLESS!)
Tidied
Drank
Ate
Played footie
Drove sensibly around the place (ALL OF US, though some others did the odd donut they were very swiftly booted out of the place by the organisers, WELL DONE )
Put tents and gayzeebos up and down
Brought seating
Made me laugh
Joined the club on the spot and paid up their subs without batting an eyelid
Arranged the parking
Won prizes
the WYIOC rocks!
(Possibly literally if my seed of an idea comes to fruition, but more on this later. Much later)
