Unfortunately not the price for red caliper is front only. Will find out about red rear calipers as the email i received does not have them on. All added options are for front end only. Rears come with solid discs I will ask about slotted and drilled as well.

this should get the enthusiasm back into this GB.
Pictures of my wagon now with big brakes front and rear:







In the end the rears went on without a hitch. Brakes are absolutely fantastic when warmed up. Much better than the old 4-pots with DS2500 pads on. The BP10 pads with these dont perform well when cold though. Overall I am very happy with these, they really set the look of the car off nicely now, just need to get scrubbing that brake dust off the alloys!
I would once again stress that these rear may not fit UK/jap cars with the 2 pot rears without some pretty major modifications. they pop onto the single pot rear fitment very easily though.

Looks cool Very tempting but I can't justify it at the moment..

The rear discs seem to be facing a different way to the fronts - is that right ?

That's what I thought but there appears to be an arrow on the disc in the last pic?

Had not picked up on that, but I think the rear discs may have been fitted the wrong way around having looked again. Looks like i'll have to pull them off again!

Ok so those prices are for just front sets... in other words for full addedd options on front and rears... I better go see my bank manager?!

Can I justify over 2 grand on brakes?? I wish I could, but chances are I might just go for the front set.




ps: got a quote from Power Station on their Porsche 6-pot front brake system... bang on £2k...

I had some Porsche calipers on my TT, 4 pots. They were absolutley awesome, but don't forget, they are just re-branded Brembos.

They do look the dogs danglies... I was trying to source big Porsche 4-pots from Porsche breakers (circa £300 for 996 calipers) then dics and pads werent too much more. Only thing holding me back was mounting brackets which would need fabrication - thats where I got stumped.

Shame, could of had a full Porsche set up for under a grand! Know anyone capable of bracet fabrication?

Have a search in wheels, tyres and brakes. I know that there is at least two people doing this or knows a man who can.

Unhappy FOR SALE...

For anybody interested, I sold my Scoob and never got round to fitting these brakes I brought from the first GB. I am gutted as they are huge and look great.

They are still brand new and in the box, I am just looking to get the £900 I paid for them (I also paid the additional posting).

Box got a little wet so some surface rust on the rotors but will come straight off with a couple of brakes.

They are the black superlight 6 pot aluminium calipers, black aluminium hats, hoses, BP10 pads, all the nuts and bolts. Discs are grooved.

Would prefer not too post due to cost and effort involved, can meet if convenient or you can collect - located in SE London (Beckenham - near Bromley).

Let me know.

Front kit: £900

Red calipers front: £110

Guys,

Can you give me the part numbers for the front and rear kits. I have a continer leaving New York next month that I can put them in. I am looking at buying my own as I have missed the group buy, just like to make sure I order the right stuff. My Sti V2 RA has the brakes of a Trabant!

Please help before I crash it......

I ship from the USA regularly, maybe I can keep the freight costs down on future purchases.

Wilwoods are normally not handed so have bleed nipples top and bottom, the top one is probably obscured by the spoke

A word of warning guys i did a google/yahoo search on wilwood brakes a while back and remember finding something on a lancer evo forum about a guy who had murder with willwood. The bells provided in the kit ran out a mile when they were clocked up and he kept constantly warping the discs. Apparently the customer service also stinks.

I thought about these as well but the fact that they don't have dust seals on the pistons put me off,all the salt and cr@p on our roads won't do them much good.

I tried replacing my pads with the ones suggested above (purchased from ebc direct) and they seem to be the wrong thickness. They also have a raised part with a hole on the backing plate whereas the bp10's I removed from the calipers have a recess. See Here

Can anyone reccomend an EBC pad with the same shape and pad depth??

Edit: The EBC pad I have is the DP4007

When I listed the p/n's above I used the technical diagrams from Wilwood and passed those to EBC's technical department to identify which pads should have been correct.

Could you email me some pictures of the old pads?

Hi Buck,

I now have the correct Wilwood pads fitted which are BP-10 compound. part # 150-8855K
I have been told that they are the correct pads for the brake kits described in this group buy. They also fit both the 6 & 4 piston calipers. Hope this helps....!

On the subject of the DP4007 pads that I have which are no good for the Wilwood setup... How would I go about returning them for a refund? (Pm if you like)

Would be interested to try a set of the correct yellowstuff pads for these brakes at a trackday to see how they compare.
