BP ultimate or Shell Optimax
Lads . .
Can you actually feel the difference . . .
Only my engine can feel the difference . . .I will just STFU with my humble (non chaved up) WRX300 . .
. .Could never tell the difference between Tesco's , BP, and Optimax and ESSO Supreme. . . .
Only difference being Tesco is not so great on fuel economy, and BP is extortionate . .
Its been good conversing!

Sometimes you poeple can be so ****
There is no way the average driver can tell the difference between 95 and 97 RON. Don't you realise the fuel companies thrive on fools like you
They are making money out of the placebo that they are providing those foolish enough to fall for the propaganda
I use 95 RON Sainsburys in my STI (using 2p off vouchers) and pay no more than 94p a litre as a result
AND I still get 30 mpg on a quiet drive

for the sake of a couple of pence a litre id rather have better quality petrol in a NEW car, that provides any slight mpg increase and a smooth sounding engine. thats why i use optimax.
I also believe its hard to FEEL the difference.

Having mapped a number of cars on a variety of fuels. An average driver certainly should be able to tell the difference between optimax and ultimate, let alone optimax and 95RON.
Ultimate from a mapping perspective is shockingly bad considering it's supposedly only 1RON or so different from Optimax.

My car was mapped on a mix of V-power and BP 95. It was done like this so I could continue to run my car on UK petrol, but I need to use min 97 ron which during the petrol crisis at Christmas was not easy. Before my car was mapped, if I used 95 ron the car sounded and performed like a VW Beatle. You can tell the difference between 95 and 97 but I doubt you can tell the difference between optimax and ultimate, but I am open to being proved wrong.
The smell and colour of our V-power runs rings round that crap you call Optimax in the UK, the sooner you get decent petrol the better.

And how the hell can a flat four sound smooth, its one of the most rugged off beat engines you can get, why it even rivals a diesel for uneven idle
