depends on the car, alot of scoobs you see flaming arn't running anything other than a rich map.

mine for example is fully decatted and remapped, flames when warm all over the place, pops and bangs as well.

its simply just unburnt fuel igniting in the exhaust.

ours pops and bangs a treat so if thats the case, it must be cause it don't work stationary. so, how can we test to see if it works when driving?

Now theres an idea for all those tailgaters.

o by the way the ones that work stationary will have a fuel line direct from the fuel tank to the exhaust. very bad idea if you ask me

If you have a large spoiler (STi 4 and above) then look in your mirror at the top left hand corner (if you know what I mean) and if you have a dark car you'll see it if you pause briefly between gear changes.
So:
1) Check road is clear and straight check flame kit is on
2) Drop down to 2nd or 3rd
3) Accelerate and hold for as long as you can safely and without hitting the rev limiter
4) Depress clutch, come off gas and Pause (for about 2 seconds)
5) WHOOOOOOSH!!!
6) Avert eyes from looking at the reflection of the spoiler in the mirror to the stoopid grin now on your face
7) Calm down and put your sensible head on
8) Look for your next opportunity

Makes going to work far more interesting.

Another great place to use it is on country lanes in the dark. Now that rocks Remember, you don't have to be doing a million miles an hour to get the revs up Be safe Oh and don't forget to switch off when driving into a petrol station

The cat is designed to get rid of unburnt fuel in the exhaust
"how it works"
so that would be the main cause of your lack of the hot stuff.
