I sold my STi V for £12.5k back in Feb 2004, 50k miles with cambelt change already done, it had the 18" gold Prodrive alloys as well (sigh, I miss the old girl!) ... does that help?!

TX.

Don't suppose you might furnish me with a few more details, like milage / condition / spec?

Thumbs up

Twas standard apart from the 18" alloys (they were gorgeous + I got them brand new for a knock down price of £900 ...) & a knocklink. Oh oh, I've mentioned a knocklink ... Lewis will be along shortly

Version 4/5/6 all had same power outputs.

A knocklink is a digital display and shows if the engine is showing any signs of detonation.

I do think it will be about £8k

Look on SIDC FAQ's.

Ive never seen any stock classic STi make 300bhp either. 280 is a real push!

I agree:

http://www.catherineandken.co.uk/sti/wrx.html

which clearly states a power increase from Version 5 - 6, doesn't it?

Looks like the bottom has fallen out the market, everyone here reckons 8-9K

Probably a case of stripping all the good bits off now

Wheels, springs, turbo timer, locking nuts, ProDrive locking air caps, i/r Garage door opener (I believe this might also jam radar ), 5Zigen Exhaust system, etc... anyone?

It has indeed, I recently paid £5250 for a 98 Sti v4 import. Ok it had 71k on the clock but it's in excellent conidtion and has all the sensible mods (scoobysport full exhaust, adjustable suspension, turbo timer, alarm, tracker etc). Runs great (300bhp on the rolling road) and was imported from new so full service history too.

They dont have an extra 20 bhp! Were do you think this came from if it did? IIRC the 5 used a VF28 and the VF29 that is on the 6 is almost identical, same injectors, same manifold and exhaust desing. That leaves the ECU - which again if memory seves me correctly has the same mapping, maybe even slightly more consrvative as per the transfer between AE801 and 802 ECU's?

I have never seen a standard classic sti make 300 bhp, actually I have never seen one make the prescribed 276 to be honest.

I'd imagine mine must be pretty close to 276bhp as standard. Only performance related mods are HKS induction kit and scoodysport decat exhaust and it hit exactly 300bhp on the rolling road
