Stay clear advice from lots of reports on net. Though saying that I have also read that their newer, more exprnsive cars are not so bad? But that makes it an even riskier proposition, spending more money with them!!

I've been to their showroom, sorry but it it was full of over-priced sheds and unhelpful staff. I'd rather **** my dead granny than buy a car from them.

lol. They have bad reports everywhere. I found a really nice car and was willing to make the 2-3 hour trip up there to check it out. Did a bit of search and they came up on Scoobynet/MLR/GTR - even video was on Youtube.

Definitely not worth the risk

Nice clean examples? F*cking hell...you been to specsavers recently?

All joking aside though, avoid like the plague. I suppose their new cars are clean - That is because they havnt had them long enough to f*ck them up in every way possible.

I swapped an evo for a car in there a few weeks ago.To his credit the bloke told me there was a couple of things wrong and had no problems with it except what he said and they were minor.I knew what there reputation was like but the evo they took off me had some fairly major problems hence why i wanted it gone and it appears they just dont check the cars over hence the bad rep as 2 hours after i left it there it was forsale on there website and all he did was hammer it along the road to see if it boosted ok

it astounds me that these threads keep coming up over and over again.
Keighley are still in business though and thriving.

This is because they sell low price stock that is below average on the auction sheets, there are some absolute bargains to be had providing you know what you are looking at.
Dont go in blind expecting to find a grade 5 for bottom money, go in expecting a grade 3 at reasonable money.
Would be a good base to find a car for motorsport etc that will be heavily modded and used hard.

why are there soo many companies like this still in operation, i have myself never bought any cars from places like this but when i was on a course in burton on trent i was then at the time searching for an impreza on autotrader and found a company selling a 1996 wrx for a very resonable price so off i went to go and see them and car looked ok, bloke looked a bit dodgy and sounded it, again without discrimiation or racisism this guy was also asian, infact he looked like the asian version of mr t lol, well got speaking to him and he didnt know anything about the car, turns out it was his mates car who he was selling on his forecourt, he had no previous history for it, just about could find the v5 form and then proceeded to tell me it was a uk model, i said no all wrx's are imports, on this occasision it was the only jap car he was selling but all the other cars were equally cheap, newish dodgy cars!!!, i only went to look at it as it was 1800 for a wrx with only 75k on it. Well needless to say i left that.

Second one is as im now currently looking for a blobeye sti so have been looking on different places and came across a sti wr1 with only 18k for 10995, yes thats right over 5k off the normal prices, so i phone this chap up to find more info, again he seemed to know virtually nothing about the car, again an asian fella who had bad attitude, he just didnt seem interested in me even though i was asking proper questions and was genuinely interested in the car, now i am no time waster, if i want to buy something i wont do so till i have the money and he just fobbed me off with some crap, and while i was trying to speak to him on his mobile, his other mobile was blearing off in the background and then he went and picked it up and started speaking to his mate, i told him to stick his car and would never phone him again!! This company are called tl cars ltd.

Well there is my rant and bit of imput, i cant remember who the first company were.

Companys like this really need to sell a dodgy car to the wrong person and they may well find there buisness up in smoke!!

Cost me £2000 to repair my bump and the little bits that needed sorting from what was wrong with it from when I bought it from them!

Just thinking...there must be enough evidence that could be compiled to bring some sort of organisation / tv programme to attention?

someone or a group need to organise a list of there cars, what was wrong, the sales experience and after sales service then contact places like watch dog, rouge traders, and there local news group which would hit them hard. It needs to be done, tooo many people say they will but wont, either that or get a few sutle cars, wait till they leave work, follow them and give them a pasting, (i dont condone violence of course )

TBH I am not condoning the quality of cars Keighly sell, but people seem to walk about with their eyes closed. The cars they sell are cheap in the market, this should make you wonder why. Buying an import there is paperwork you should ask to see, grading sheets, certificates etc, this should be at any dealer. If you dont see it or arent happy go elsewhere.

Keighly buy high quantities of stock and sell cheap, if you want grade 3/3.5 then go there. But you get what you pay for, perhaps folks need to realise this.

If you are going to a dealer (any) and expecting them to tell you everything and trust them then you are a fool, whether it be a main dealer or KTC, all they want is a sale and your cash.

How many of these threads keep appearing about KTC? Then 100's of folks jump on the 'bandwagon' and badmouth every dealer in that area, infact Northern England. I suggest going to places, look about, speak to dealers, discuss terms & conditions, aftersales etc. Walk away if not happy, having done this myself I know places (even some local to KTC) where excellent quality can be bought with all the correct documents.

Just because KTC have ad's on Autotrader etc doesnt mean they are great, if you were buying a UKDM car you would probably visit several dealers, so do the same with imports too.

I dont think they give an F what some on here think. Looks like they have a stock of about 400 cars between the 3 garages. Lets say an average of £5000 per car so about £2000000! worth of cars. They obviously did something right.

So matey with the 300zx is bitchin because he had to shell out £450 on a clutch for the car he saved £2000 on.

You can't expect to buy a minter at bottom money, if people remember this and have their eyes open then everything is groovy.

i kinda agree.

what i dont agree with is the hidden dangers. massive amounts of body repair, dodgy engines, totally undeclared and kept a secret.

if its got a problem, let people know. you can then make an decision as to weather its worth saving money on thier lower priced cars.

I fell in love with a yellow bugeye they had a few years back, never got it, and it sold. As soon as it was sold the new owner was trying to shift it straight away. must of been something pretty dodgy with it!!

An AA/RAC inspection is a relatively cheap outlay to prevent one from being screwed over. Any high performance car purchase should be made with the right homework. Fools and their money are easily parted.

you say that, but after a mates experience i wouldnt trust an AA report. few years back he was looking at a Saxo VTR. got the AA to look at it, they past it with flying colours.

So he bought it. I spotted it when he got it tho, fact being front seat belt pretentioners had been fired, each wheel had a different tyre, plus a few other bits.

which in my mind should of been spotted (maybe they were), but definately reported to the prospective buyer!

the AA and RAC dont have a clue they only have a few months or years experience they havent got a clue about performance cars.

i had a guy from the RAC spent 4 hours trying to bleed my rad.
