I had one of these for 4 years, 2 litre GTi, in red of course. Fantastic car - well built and tremendously reliable. Great brakes, comfy, good ICE sound... and posy pop-up lights.
But, understeered terribly, wheelspun in any damp / icy conditions and drank gallons of oil. Oh, and cost me a small fortune in T-cut to keep it red and not pink!
I loved it though, and still miss it, though the 97 Turbo I have now more than makes amends.

Before my Ukturbo i had this
Loved it so much, leather interior, lowered, chav rear lights, uprated cams was good for a 1,8 as i was only 18 when i got it
Got this still as my works car

Not the most impressive history of cars but at the time they were my pride and joy. Neither of them broke down or gave me any trouble in any way.
Would love to know where they are now!!
And now I've got this:

I saw some scally kids walk past a parked up Lambo Gallardo and one said "EY, fookin ell. It's a Ferrrrrarri". His mate replied with "**** off, it's a Lotus innnit?" The third one then tried to read the badge but couldn't pronounce it, so they walked off. They didn't even try to steal it, bless them.

Did have this - low on ins. (Gp 10), lots of toys such as cruise and leather and looked ok.
Now that the baby is on the way, needed a sensible family car and bought this:

I had this last year..
It was originally a 1.6 driver but I put in a very quick 16v engine, uprated the brakes, suspension, strutbraces etc. Then I completely stripped it out, everything not needed was binned including sound proofing material as I planned to enter it into the odd sprint + hillclimb. It was brilliant on the back roads, and could embarass a lot of other "quicker" cars, even the ocassional subaru!
Sadly its no longer here, RIP
Now I have this which is great fun, but a completely different car. I still miss the golf though.
Really enjoying it so far. Its got over 100k on the clock but managed 235bhp atf and 178bhp atw recently, which I thought was pretty good for a standard uk turbo on normal 95 ron fuel!

I like these sort of threads, nice to see some cracking motors/bikes owned by others .
Anyway here goes ;
This was the one I always wanted, once I got it and spent a fortune on it I had enough ( Trusty old Ford's ! ).
Had a BMW in between but here was my last car which I traded in for the Scooby.
And here's the Scooby I ended up with........
Need to update the pics as this one is pretty crap and we now have the Prodrive mudflaps in place .
