I mentioned temporal arteritis to SS, too. My mum suffers from that, and her symptoms at the start of it were similar to Squaresy's - but as I have said to her via PM they lasted for around a month, before she had a biopsy done to confirm it I have also told SS not to panic, it may be something quite straight forward, but if it continues she has to go to her GP...

I've suggested she gets to see a Dr Spoon for some warm gargle.

If the truth be known she probably managed to travel to her local supermarket without the use of sat nav which is going to take it out of her and possible cause cranial tension.

please

my cheekbone was hurting a few days ago but i havnt bumped it or anything, i dont know if its connected to my head pain
If it was Sinusitus - you would definitely know about it

I've had it, get relapses every now and again (Doc says this is common) = Hurts like hell

If you feel like you've been kicked in the nose/cheek its probably sinusitus & if your head thuds with every footstep.......

temporal arteritis very rare under 50....dont know how old u r ...but assuming ur not that ancient. most likely sinusitis though quick examnation by a doc would be a good idea.

Look after yourself Squaresy - you're dealing with a lot of stress at the moment and that can do really wierd things to your system. When I've gone through periods of intense stress I've suffered similar symptoms.

You mentioned the headache wasn't deep so it could easily be a tension headache - you're so tense all your shoulder muscles are tight. which in turn affects your scalp, pulling it tight and creating the headache - and they can be bloody painful! I had one for a week once and nothing I took eased it at all - I had to go into work, but I had all the lights off in my office and my PC monitor on its dimmest setting.

Try some relaxation stuff. I'm a fan of aromatherapy for stress relief - works a treat for me. Most things lavender scented can help, or I strongly recommend Boots pillow spray - cinnamon & nutmeg. Make sure you're taking plenty of time for yourself to relax - long luxurious baths, nice body lotions etc.

Also, I know this is dull, but make sure you eat properly - if need be take some multivitamin pills to top up your system. Get loads of fresh fruit and veg into your system and drink at least 1.5 litres of water a day - it really does help your whole body function better and deal with stress etc.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Bint, not worried in the slightest here. Maybe had it been unusual for you to crave attention then I'd have thought your absence was a little strange.

I'm sure they'll be another thread along soon about yourself and how your ankle socks are chafing maybe, causing sore feet, and the inability to walk further than 4 yards.

I for one, just accept your head pain was more likely down to a hair grip you'd left in while sleeping.

Possible explanation - (my parents who are medics used to have patients who complained of similar symptons.)

It can be fairly common if you're highly stressed to be clenching your jaw in your sleep which causes tension in your facial muscles.

Now for the bad news - I cant remember what you need to do to make it go away.

Hope you feel better soon

Glad to hear you are feeling better Sara, you've got enough to worry about without all that as well.
