pain in my head

ive got this excruciating(sp) pain in the side of my head near the temple. its been there for a few days now and nothing takes the pain away. it doesnt feel like a deep pain. ive tried iburefen paracetamol etc. i have not had any booze for a few days or listened to loud music. i dont think its migraine as its not making me feel ill, and i dont suffer from it. the only other thing i can think of is sinuses, i havnt had a cold so i dont think its that and i thought this was more on your face than your head. if it is a sinus problem what will get rid of it

please:cry:

my cheekbone was hurting a few days ago but i havnt bumped it or anything, i dont know if its connected to my head pain

You can have a blocked sinus without having a blocked or runny nose.

And the pain is excruciating if the pressure builds.

Olbas oil, sinutab and the hot water thing can all help.

dpb 24 June 2006 07:13 PM

Whats olbas oil ..:wonder:

Sara....you sure it`s not your wisdom teeth.....that can hurt like hell too...mine did, I didn`t know where to put myself....the dentist recommended Sensodyne toothpaste rubbed gently on the gum until they could take them out....

How you feeling now...????
You haven`t posted for a bit!!!!!

:lol1: Rannoch she is going to kill you :D

Trout 25 June 2006 12:05 AM

Another thought - serious this time - it could be an abcess on an upper molar.

I had one earlier this year and it was so painful I could not focus my eye that was on the same side as the tooth :(

I hope you are feeling better soon - but it may be dentist, ENT or GP!!

In all cases a heavy dose of antibiotics will make a huge improvement in 24 hours. :)

JoanUK300 25 June 2006 06:23 AM

Sara.... How you feeling today? Any improvement?

chrome 25 June 2006 10:01 AM

perhaps it's down to stress Sara?
I wouldnt be surprised with the recent situation with your mum's illness..

It's SN being beamed directly into your cranium 24/7...... :thumb:

Leslie 25 June 2006 12:08 PM

Sorry to hear about that Sara, it could well be sinusitus, I used to suffer from that when I was flying because of the constant pressure changes. It always was worse in May when the Rape fields were in flower. and during days with high atmospheric pressure.

The best cure is a decongestant of some kind, Olbas oil may well do the business and I always used to have a Vick inhaler about my person.

Best wishes to your mum.

Les

Get your eyes tested

Any other symptoms, dizzy, nausea, blurred vision etc would be something wrong with the grey matter

Might be temporal arthritis
start of bell's palsy
simple migraine

I suggest you see a Dr soon
