Is this about keeping the kids of this country safe or is it a band wagon that anyone can jump on to slag off the gays of the world

I to am a foster carer and i see everyday the crap alot of these kids are subjected to. The problem is that the majority of this country winge about it but don't do anything about it. And when social services are so desperate for carers they are looking wherever they can to find them. I admire the single, unmarried, black and gay communities for being brave enough to take on this very difficult role.

So come on do the decent thing and foster one of these needy kids and see for yourselves that most child abuse (90%) is conducted by NORMAL STRAIGHT WHITE MEN AND WOMEN yes straight women as well

So does that make all you straight white folk including me a load of child molesters then

The list of ridiculous options was there for a reason, to highlight the fact that SS have a huge problem in trying to find 'Safe' places to put these kids because they are so short of carers.

You ask which one am I, well out of the list I put up I would put myself in the D class as at least I got of my **** and have done something about this sorry situation that a lot of vulnerable kids find themselves in.

What have you done and which one are you ?

Creating stupid, emotive options lists does nothing for your argument.

Mocking another foster carer who proberly does more to help needy kids than you. That is why i quoted your post. Cause its easy to take the p*ss out of him when in fact what he said was factual and a eveyday dilema for social services.

It wasn't an argument, hence I ended by saying "Just my 2p"

I was highlighting the problems SS face when trying to place children, as people are shouting about putting kids with gay couples but won't do anything about the underlying problem themselves.

As for your family I hope its a happy one and at least you haven't/wont do what alot of parents of kids in care do and just hand their kids to SS to bring up which just makes the already bad situation worse.

GCollier,

You are guilty of taking a phrase out of context and twisting what was actually said in a vain attempt to justify your own hypocritical prejudice against me.

You are obviously not capable of reading and understanding exactly what is said in a post. Or you are prepared to cheat to justify yourself when you know you have got it totally wrong with your original assumptions. A very poor effort!

Les,
Myself, gcollier and rannoch all independantly read one of your earlier posts mentioning punishment, aids, san francisco etc.

All three of us interpreted in the same way.

I believe that particular comment gave me an insight into what you, deep down, really think.

However you are protesting repeatedly so I will take your word on it and it was mis-interpreted.

Leslie,

What am I twisting exactly? You state that homosexual people acquire aids as punishment. Then when issue is taken you backtrack by saying that punishment is simply a term used to describe a negative consequence of a "bad" act. How else can this be interpreted other than that you hold the belief that homosexuals are perpetrators of bad acts (or you have an incoherent belief system)?

Your refusal to countenance any evidence put forward regarding acts of homosexual behaviour amongst animals, but instead to stick to your initial judgement based on your own relatively limited observations is also, as it happens, dictionary definition prejudice.

As for me showing prejudice towards you, there is little need when you do such a fine job of hanging yourself with your own words.

Gary.

Looking back at the original statement I cannot decide which comment is more prejudiced. The one about Africa or the punishment one.

If we put aside punishment on the basis that Leslie has a rather unique use of the word to mean that anything that may have negative consequences is a punishment - a rather puritanical view in my experience - then we can look at the statement about Africa.

If can't be bothered means exploited by western drug companies, where can't be bothered means they would have to decide whether to buy a bag of rice for their family or a box of condoms, where can't be bothered means being misled about AIDS because their government is terrified of admitting it, indeed some governments it officially does not exist, if can't be bothered means not being educated or not having access to broadcast media, if can't be bothered means they have to walk a day to the nearest shop.

I wish I had not returned to that post. To say that statement is not prejudiced is like saying that fire is not hot.

Don't specifically want to BTTT this thread once again, but I too read Leslie's posts in the same manner. Les, I *know* you want to portray yourself as the arbiter of reason and fairness on this board, but some of your later comments look like back-tracking and furiously defensive counter-reaction, and I think most unbiased people can see that on this subject you have deep-rooted prejudices that no amount of further "explanation" can detract from. Sorry but that's the way it is.

Good to hear from the foster carers above. I wonder what you must think when scum like DCI Braincell Hunt post such derogatory and witless remarks, or maybe you see it regularly and do what the rest of us do and simply ignore it. I hope so.

See, that's quite amusing. Why can't you post like that for most of the time instead of interjecting with puerile comments such as are on this thread? I'm willing to believe that you have more to offer the board than just that.

Not backtracking at all Anne Robinson. I used the word punishment in exactly the way I described later and in the way it is often used in other cases. Such as when a nutter of a driver driving at a stupid speed hits someone and causes serious injuries and then hits a lamp post and does himself a nasty injury as well. It is a common saying that he deserved that as a punishment.

I have made it quite clear that I do not have any prejudice against homosexuals, including my friends of course. Or ethnic minorities either for that matter. I think a person's character is the most important way of assessing him.

I also stated that I abhor the thought of **** sex and I stand by that. I am entitled to that view. However I have never said that it should be forbidden, and if that is what you want to do, that is your business. I still hold that "fudge packing" is unnatural and disgusting for that matter. it also leads to disease and this morning the News was stating that Syphilis is on the increase now due to unsafe homosexual practices.

Normal sex is designed for making babies and so I say that **** sex is not natural and nothing that animals or people do wiil change that fact.

All these high flown essays into semantics or taking my words out of context and scraping the barrel to find excuses to justify **** sex as a normal practice mean nothing. If **** sex is what you want to do, then please carry on, I don't give a stuff, as they say. You are entitled to disagree with me for my opinions, but not to vilify me.
