bren - yours was one of the most controlled play sessions out of those who went out. I wouldnt do that to my car as I've put too much time into it.
Chop - Glad you enjoyed yourself - hope the run home wasnt too boring.

Still gutted with my topspeed, but I did hit it just after halfway on the run. Datron guy said as I passed him the first reading was 156 and he was at the halfway mark!

Strangest thing of the day was StevenRWs RST - funny how it hit 150mph genuine with 165bhp @ wheels proven. Only holds 12psi boost at the top end. What a result!
Cheers
Martin
Wonder what the other RST would have hit if we could have taken it?

Wot - a diet? Should knock about an hour off the 0-60 and add a few warp factors to the top

steve, good to meet you too

yep i ran again. i didnt do another top speed run though. my second 0-60, 0-100 1/4mile produced 6.4secs to 60 and 15 something for 0-100 and 1/4 mile. This was using full boost all the time and involved loads of timewasting wheelspin. For my third and last run a got my girlfriend to switch from low to high boost as i changed from 1st to 2nd. This let me launch the car a lot harder as i didnt have to worry so much about wheelspin and resulted in the best times.

dingy,

u want it lighter? youll never get off the line mate!!

martin,

ahh, cheers mate, although "controlled" wouldnt have been a word id have used!! 156 at the half way point is VERY quick as i was going past there at 125-130.

bren - yeah, I was telling the datron guy the speed I had calculated and he said the timing gear didnt lie. Gave me the readings he took of 156 the first as I went by then 157 then 2 more 156 before my brake lights lit up. It was just sitting on the limiter.
oh well - car is still good fun on the road.

150 top speed, 6.6 to sixty and didn't even use a drop of oil.

talking of the reliability or rs's.

Mine has done 130,000 miles on that bottom end.

Due to the fact i didn't know i was going till four days before i couldnn't organise bigger gears or wheels.

So my topspeed was done using standard gearbox and standard wheels! i had to remove my rev limit to allow the car to go past 144 where standard limiter is with standard gears n wheels.

So i was sitting at 6,600 rpm in fifth with no bother,

charge air was at 23.3 when i started the run and only 33.4 when i was holding 150 home built chargecoolers are ok!

the problem with the gearing i had was that 6,600 is beyond peak power so if i had say 2% bigger wheels or gears it most likely would have pulled it if you all get me.

anyhows very chuffed with 150. The other fastest 16 got 141 or something and took 4 runs i only did one.

The biggest amusement of the day was that when going round right hand bends my brake caliper was hitting the wheel. So that wasn't good. I just put it down to flex. yet when we had arrived at brunters that morning 5:30 am, the steering had felt very weird!!!

the wheel bolts were solid so i was very confused. Anyhows, i just set off on my topspeed run in true rw fash, regardless of the dodgy steering and wheel knocking and banging noises

after i left brunters it was feeling VERY bad, the calliper was hittin the inside of the wheel even in the straight line at 50!!!! so we turned round to go the correct way and luckily i spied a garage still open. By this point i had guessed it was the hub nut. He got out the 30mm socket and he could turn the hub nut by finger hahahaahahahahahahahaha

it was 3 turns ( finger tight ) away from falling off all together hahaha#

OH DEARY ME

still did 150 with the wheel pointing the wrong way about 10 degrees tow out i guess hehehe

yus

Hello everyone!

I've got some pics from the Revs day. I'll post them in the temporary RSOC forum.
