Another stinker - Asking 500 points for 4 maps on PDZ, when at least 1 of them is free with the Demo...

God knows what they'll be charging the GRAW stuff.

Yes you can, (unless it's the hd itself that is broke).

How many ££s does 500 relate to?

Not all games will allow you to copy the save though. I lost some of mine, DOA4 was one The rest I got backed up to mem card.

Some games will allow you to copy your save game to a mem card and others wont - arcade games for example, so if like me you were on level 131 of Bejewelleds endless mode you're buggered.

2 others that wont - PDZ & Kameo - also COD2 was a bit dodgy last time I had to do it. I thought I'd completely lost my game midway through Veteran so never went back to it as there was no COD2 save game data on the HDD - I thought I'd try giving Hardened a run through last week and the old save appeared from nowhere!

Be warned though - a 64mb card only has 53 for use IIRC and a game like PGR3 took up 9mb of that...

You can copy the Oblivion game saves across onto a memory card. I know because I did this on mine when my 360 went belly up a couple of weeks ago...

If your box is buggered from the update then don't you simply keep the hd and get the console replaced, then simply plug your hd back in to your newly replaced xbox and carry on as normal, or do you have to send the whole lot back including the drive?

im pretty sure the posts ive read have implied they had to send both the console and HDD back together.

which i think is silly, the least they could do is copy all your data to the new drive they send you out.

Not sure, Found fuse had gone in the psu, replaced it and bang she goes again, will try it again with the xbox not plugged into the psu, and if she goes again I would say it is a fault on the transformer. I never got any dreaded red lights of death come up that my mates have ,will sure make things easier if it is just the psu though.

Just ordered hitman as well

Yep, MS insisted that I send the whole lot back, HDD still attached. Luckily I could boot for 30 seconds or so before mine borked, just enough to get my saves off. Pretty scary though as it could have crashed mid way through backing them up, corrupting them.

there is a load issue with ES after the dash update I've read. you need to clear the cache on your HD. to do this hold down A while it loads I believe.

I had no issues with Oblivion after the update, maybe it was just a coincidence, or just a random problem.

Buy a new one from Argos, swap the power supply and take it back for a refund

just read something on it. To do with the cache it creates if you have a HD. It can become corrupt during the update. The A thing clears the cache which the game then creates again next time you play. If you have the core pack then this is not an issue.

Not quite a defrag option, but not far off >

An undocumented feature in the latest Xbox360 dashbaord update has surfaced -- a cache clear. In order to perform this "maintenance" follow the instructions below. (Thanks, Kakarotto)
Go to the system blade and then memory. Press Y on either the HDD or a MU and then press X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you do this a blade will pop up saying: This will perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices. Do you want to continue? Pick yes or no.

BTW, i've not tried this yet so don't blame me if it's a quick format function

erm, you've got no choice about updating the 360 firmware if you wish to go online, the game updates will only be removed if you do the above maintainence thingy. All it does is clear the d/l cache, if you wish to play the games again it will simply download the update again

Yes, you can remove the update tho, and then just play oblivion offline so it doesnt ask you to update it again
