Made up for Barca, they've been the best team to watch in Europe all season and, for me, it would have have been a traversty for Arsenal to have won the competion.
The ref should have allowed the goal to stand and should have sent off the keeper after he had awarded the advantage. He did Arsenal the mother of all favours by immediately blowing up for the free kick.
He then did them the mother of all favours again by awarding a free kick for an embarrasing cheating dive from which Arsenal scored...
I didnt see Henry moaning about either of those decisions
Phil is right though mental Campbells confidence will be boosted by his header although it wont be much use as he shouldnt make the first 11 unless there are injuries
The ref booked Barcas right back for a nothing tackle and he was subbed soon after as a result - Didnt see Henry moaning about that either...
As long as UEFA fine Henry just like they would a manager for his comments I am at peace...
Forget patriotisim when it comes to domestic teams - its totally illogical to me.
A truly great result for all Non Gooner 'true' football fans last night.

Why would the ref have sent Lehman off if the goal stood.

How could Lehman have "Prevented a clear goal scoring opportunity" if the goal was scored.

Exactly, if the goal stood the worse Lehman should have received would be a yellow card for a poor tackle. If he was to be sent off the game should be stopped and a free kick to be awarded. Did arsenal a favour by blowing the whistle to send thier player off, give over.

The Barca right back was booked for a nothing challenge I agree but he had been looking to be booked throughout the match and the ref signalled that too him aswell. Henry's booking as alot more mystifying though. The ref all round was poor IMO, lots of amatuer mistakes made throughout the game. I felt sorry for Arsenal, personally thought they'd done enough and deserved it but you cant take it away from Barcelona though so fair play to them aswell

The ref should of sent off the cheating tossers who were insisting that the ref sent Lehman off IMHO

Never been a big fan of teams surrounding the ref to force a decision myself - but it seems to be part of the game now. Until they start carding players for trying to influence decisions it will go on.

Still - Next year's looking very promising. Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal are all looking strong at the moment .

What's the odds on an all English semi line up .

**** fan here..
my thoughts

1. Henry got a knock so couldn't perform as well as we hoped. He performs in plenty of big games.real madrid away, juve at home, wigan at home to win last game, hoem to the 'pool 2 seasons ago when we had to win to keep lead at the top (2-1 down remember?), great players often get this criticism

2. Ref was a bit of a girl but I thought it was even, he gave an eboue dive a free kick which led to our first. let off eboue from the waist high kick on van bronk.. too easy to blame refs. I feel embarred with the comments henry and others have made regarding decdisions etc, just take the defeat like men, with dignity, don't become another mourinho

3. nice to see other clubs fan support us but I pray for all english teams but us to f**k up so have no issue with the stick dished out.

4..and lastly, you'll never see the scum from the wrong end of holloway road ever make this competition, let alone a final, so continue to try and take the ****, we all know your team is actually the laughing stock and has been since....1961

Ted

Says it all.

You'd rather not enter a competion than get beat in the final

Spurs - destined to be put out of the also-rans euro cup by a part time Icelandic outfit

At last, someone who knows the rule..................it took a while. How many people spout off about football rules but wouldn't know where to find them if they tried?

It's only the "I want to see proper footballing sides win" (really meaning I've got a small brain and hate anyone except my beloved <insert team name here) that don't seem to understand the rules

Cool

The ref should have allowed the goal to stand and should have sent off the keeper after he had awarded the advantage
Not possible in this instance unless the keeper is guilty of another red card offence (see below) - he was guilty of none so if advantage is played then no more than a caution (yellow card) can be awarded.

Interested to know the actual law about the Lehman sending off.
1. Gives the foul and sends the keeper off.
2. Does'nt give the foul, plays advantage & Barca score.
or
Why can't the ref play advantage, let Barca score & then send the keeper off. Any referees on here know the actual law.???
There are two scenarios to this and both are technically correct.

Award DFK, RC keeper for DOGSO or play advantage and caution the keeper.

Now, I haven't seen the full game, but from what people are telling me, the other Barca player was NOT offside (only going on hearsay here!) so if I had been reffing the game I would have gone for the advantage call.
If he WAS offisde then the more serious offense is penalised - in this case, the foul on the attacker and punishment via DFK and RC.

You CANNOT RC a player for DOGSO if a goal is awarded.
The only causes that you can RC a player in this situation are:

Violent Conduct.
Serious Foul Play (old term would be professional foul).
Foul/Abusive/Insulting langauge or gestures.
Second cautionable offence.

Make sense?

Either way, by the LOTG the ref made a correct call. I won't criticise a fellow official and will leave it at that.
