Ok, it's up and running now thanks. Seems it needs a different rom to the windows version.

Seems to run a bit slow, (ceratinly slower than the Atari ST emulator), but it's a good start. Will follow this one with interest

No problem. You may find that overclocking to 250Mhz will improve things.

Mind you, the Amiga has always been harder to emulate than the ST. All those custom chips cause no end of headaches.

Yep. That's true.

After reading this review:

http://craig.gp2x.de/review/GP2XReview.html

It appears that the 68K CPU core isn't the highly optimised ASM one.

Probably easier to port over than the ASM one.

Things got better with the A1200. And then it all disapeared.

Same here. I've downloaded the dev kit, but haven't had time to sit down and work out how to use it yet. Been playing (mostly) with the Meagdrive, Amiga, and Atari ST emulators so far...

Has anyone had any luck with the SNES Emulator? Tried playing Super Star Wars, ESB & ROTJ, but the gameplay gets very laggy when you get more than one creature on the screen.
Sonic the Hedgehog Compilation on the Mega Drive is my Favourite at the moment.

Not tried the snes stuff yet. I gather it's in a very early deveopment stage so I wouldn't expect too much yet...

Fav game so far is Gods. Looking for a decent version of Chaos Engine now. The megadrive emulator has a little trouble with the gfx in that one, and my ST version hangs. Might try the Amiga next...

I've got both Gods and Chaos Engine for the Amiga Emulator... Will have to give them a blast.

I'm still trying to get hold of the 0.34 romset for Mame

Mind you, I've nearly finished getting hold of about 3.5 GB of Amiga stuff I'm only interested in the ones I used to own though so a lot of sifting to be done. Might have to stick Elite on there

You can get hold of a newer one and use clrmamepro to extract an older romset for you if you can't find the 0.34 set...

Iain, I've got the whole v0.71 romset at home and did the whole ClrMamePro thing to revert it back to 0.34 but it complained about lots of missing files in a number of the rom zip files

When I did mine, I went from a 0.64 romset. Clrmamepro didn't complain about any missing bits at all. I've not tried them all in mame itself yet, but most of the ones I've tried so far have worked ok. Did you use the gp2x definition file (it's in the gp2x mame zip file)?

Yep, followed the instructions that I found on the Wiki Mame gp2x page. Used the right .dat file, loaded it all in, dragged my roms over and then it was picking some out saying that a set was missing a particular file, and that was true for nearly all of them

Strange. It worked absolutely fine with the Mame executable for v0.71.

Luckily I have already got a 0.34 ROM set to hand from an old PC MAME emulator. Good luck.

One of the best games I've played so far on MAME has to be Aero Fighters. a 1941 Clone game.

I'll have to give that a try. 1941 is one of my current favourites

Nope. But from what I have read, any device you plug into it via USB has to be self powered.

Or through a powered hub, so if you can get a mains powered hub, you should be able to use that in the middle

I got the 0.34 romset sorted in the end Forgot how crap I was at ghosts and goblins, despite it being one of my favourite games! I was good at it on the spectrum LOL

The megadrive version is a little easier than the mame / arcade version. I can actually get to the end of level boss on the first level on that version
