You are a raving idiot - please give me data, proof, evidence.
You are spouting what someone said once upon a time and you haven't the knowledge or intelligence to dispute it - I, on the other hand, being the smartest brain on the block, can!
You are way out of your depth mate - apologise or suffer a humiliating defeat

Along these lines, I have about 600 quid to spend on a remap for my wrx in the midlands, anybody point me in the right direction?
Looked at GGR but they want about 900 inc vat, thought I could get a decent remap to free up a few more horses for a better price than that.
Don't want anything daft, just want to make my car a bit more driveable.
And FUN!

Man I can't believe I've just read all four pages of this thread to see once again its been turned to something else other than what the thread starter wanted to know "how he can spend £500 to tune his car" <--- My words before someone silly uses this as a reason to argue about nothing. So is there anything that you thought best to spend the £500 on tuning?

I would say Scoobyclinic to re-map your existing one.
Although i'd be tempted to pay an extra £100-£150 and go for an Apexi
(£750 should get you one supplied, fitted and mapped)

can you please spend the 500 quid on a hitman for pslewis?
How about if he does not show up at the NBO we all donate the money that was for charity to the new pslewis hitman fund?

I'd say, sort your brakes before looking for more power, if you've just got the 2 pots.
Still need some for mine when the money is available.

Well I read page 1 upto the point Mr. Lewis came along, and then watched the thread decsend into the usual debate about what to do with his head
I too used to be wound up by him, but know read what he has to say, and watch as the newbies and inexperienced get sucked into his tiny arguments. You know, sometimes, he has a point, and he in being the devils advocate all the time, he gives balance to threads like this.
Yes, you can spend your £500 on backboxes and dump valves and knocklinks, but will it make the car faster? Worth more? Probably yes and no, but what will really improve the speed of the car is driver training. Above all else, learn to drive the car properly, either by a cadence instructor of the likes of Don Palmer or Mr. Lyon, or by going to a track and spending the £500 on spare wheels/tyres/brake pads and instruction. After all that, have a read of the highway code and the police drivers manual, practise what you've read and calm down on the road. Overall your car will go much faster with a highly trained, calm, in control driver at the wheel, than anybody who's spent over 5K on mods, never mind £500.
If you don't fancy all that, go for brakes then suspension in that order, a car that stops and handles is much quicker than one that just goes fast.
See you at the rr in June

Just thought - I could earn lots of money here .....
I am a very experienced driver who, with his standard Impreza, could blow the Modified Impreza's into the weeds ..... and I do it for FREE!! All you need to be able to do is drive properly!
Maybe thats why I don't modify my cars? I can drive properly, so don't need driver aids to progress at a safe and fast speed.
I could hire out my time and train the Rally Wannabbeees who can't drive, into skillful owner/drivers? Better value than a poxy overpriced re-map!!
Lewis Driving School for the Owner who needs aids to drive fast!!
Has quite a ring to it!
