Rebeccas' Scoob stolen.....please help
#31
Bex - been there and done that a few months back, so I know that no words are going to make a difference, but I really do hope you get it back. Sounds like a pro job (most scoobs are now,) so they generally don't trash them.

Thought twice about posting this but..... if mainland rules are like NI and the worst scenario happens take care about your reg. I have to wait a year until i can transfer my reg to new car. Make sure your insurance company is aware of this when/if you need to hand it over to sort out claim. Try and get a letter from insurance co. stating they have no interest in your reg and will be prepared to hand over the log book when time is up. Sorry for adding to misery but be aware that this situation may arise if your rules are similiar to ours.

Does it have any stickers etc in the back window ???
Or can you post a photo of the rear. As this is the best time to view the car if it is on the road.
Sorry to hear about your car.

I ought to point out that, bad news as it is, it's only a car (i.e. some metal and glass) and it's insured. It could have been much worse like the guy in Birmingham who was shot for his car keys. I have also had a car nicked and whilst it pisses you off at the time, it's important to remember that it will get sorted out to your satisfaction and that nobody's been hurt.
It seems to me that it won't be long before criminals are the only people driving scoobs

This is such depressing news - it's put a real dampener on my weekend.
My business had a Porsche that we were working on stolen last month from Tonbridge & the dealership that we were doing the work for has had TWO others stolen since.
Police say that there is a gang of around EIGHTY members operating in the Kent/Surrey/Essex/London area. They've a separate team targetting this particular gang because of the enormous value of the vehicles believed to have been stolen by them.
Fingers crossed for safe return of Bex's Scoob.

I just want to thank everybody for their kind words. It's a comfort to know that so many of you care.
I know it's only a lump of metal that gets you from A to B ... but I can't think of it like that ... it was my pride and joy ... my baby ... helped to make my life worth living ....
It was one of my worst nightmares come true last night when I got home from work ... I always look out for it when I leave for work and arrive home again which is how I knew it was there yesterday morning ... but wasn't when I got home. I just couldn't believe it at first, searched up and down the road to make sure that it hadn't moved. It's kept with steering wheel lock on, in gear and wheels turned towards kerb as advised .... it's a private road too ... so I guess nobody's safe ... everybody has to be extra careful with their security. And I know that I'm damn lucky that I wasn't attacked or anything for the keys.
It doesn't have any stickers on it at all at the moment .... the tax disc is in the SIDC holder and that's it. There are stickers warning people about the Cobra alarm on driver's window but that's it.
I want my Catalunya No. 185 back .... so any help is much appreciated.
BTW: I gave Sal my wrong e-mail addy ... not thinking straight at the moment ... it's rebeccamurrell@yahoo.co.uk
Cheers everybody ...

Barstewards, shame we're not allowed to wire our cars up to the mains when we leave them
What do they hope to achieve by stealing a special edition - it sticks out more than any other impreza what with it being numbered and all W***ers the lot of em.
Hope it turns up safe and sound Bex..........

I have to agree with Carl here.
I've had our white MX5 for over 4 years now and have become un-healthily attached to it. The thought of even trading it in for a newer model disgusts me so imagine how I'd feel if it were stolen.
So why does it make us so sad?
It's not got a soul
It doesn't give a cr@p if we wash it or not despite us thinking it does
It doesn't get depressed when we leave it in the rain all night
It's not got eyes, it's got headlights
If anyone should be sad it's the insurance companies. We pay a damn fortune to them over the years, I must have paid over 10K by now so you're only getting what you've paid for. They're the one's who should be thinking up ways to combat this crime.
You can be angry if you want but you'll only be taking it out on "innocents" and the scum don't even know your name, so don't waste your energy.
I'm sure this has been of no help whatsover but it made me feel better
Dave.

Bex, sad news indeed.
But we're all on the look out, and the more people that read this thread the better. ScoobyNet has achieved some impressive things in the past so you never know. Your car is out there somewhere, and it must be close to one of ScoobyNet's 8,000 members.
Those wheels are distinctive, and is that a sticker under the side indicator repeater? What's on the back? Any Catalunya stickers? The Cobra sticker on driver's door is distinctive, but that's probably been taken off with the number plate. Any other marks, like a dent or something? Anything.
If I spot a black Scoob, I promise to give it a VERY close look.
Richard.
